Danny and his wife, Frandy, have a daughter, Daniela (3/20/98), and sons, Gerald (4/20/94), Daniel (9/20/00) and David, and make their winter home in the Dominican Republic...Danny signed his first professional contract with the Detroit organization as a 16-year old...his stepfather, Jesus de la Rosa, appeared in 3 games for Houston in 1975...Danny and wife Frandy are instrumental in distributing food to the needy in their native Dominican Republic annually at Christmas time.
2004
Danny had the busiest big league season of his 12-year career, appearing in 141 games as the
Diamondbacks everyday rightfielder...appeared in 20 more games in 2004 than any previous big league season...he hovered near the .300 mark for the majority of the year before a season-
ending 3-for-32 slide finished him off at .286... Hit safely in a career-best 21 consecutive games from April 7-30, batting .390 (32-for-82), the third best streak in Arizona franchise history and fourth best in the majors in 2004...his year began with an 0-for-3 season opener on April 6, then he doubled on April 7 against Colorado to jumpstart the streak...the highlight of the streak was on April 22 in Milwaukee when Bautista carried the Diamondbacks to victory with a club-record tying 5 hits in Arizona's 11-9 win in 15 innings over the Brewers...he set a career-high in both hits and RBI (5), while matching a personal best with a pair of home runs, the fourth multi-homer game of his career...followed the next day with a single against San Diego which extended his hitting streak to 15 games to tie a personal best set
in 2000...he eclipsed his career best the following night against the Padres, then ran the streak to 21 games, trailing only Tony Womack (24 games in 2000) and Luis Gonzalez (30 games in 1999) in the team record book...Danny earned National League Player-of-the-Week honors for April 19-25, the first time he's won the award...he kept his average above the .300 mark until an 0-for-3 on June 25 in Detroit dropped him to .299, but for just a day...he responded by going 16-for-35 (.457) over his next 8 games with 3 homers and 10 RBI to up his season mark back to .318...following a couple of hitless affairs, Danny put together 4 consecutive 2-hit games from July 7-20 to get his average to .322, which was the high-water mark for the remainder of the season...Had his numbers fall significantly during the second half of the campaign as the season opening lineup fell prey to a variety of injuries as evidenced by one home run and 17 RBI in his final 64 games of the year...he opened the year as a regular in either the #6 or #7 spot in the batting order, but the overwhelming number of injuries led to his ascension to the #3 or #4 slots over the second half...Overall, he was one of the more clutch hitting performers on the season, batting .311 (38-for-122) with runners in scoring position, including a .408 mark (20-for-49) when there were 2 out in those situations...his 20 grounded into double plays set a club record, eclipsing the previous
mark of 19 (Matt Williams in 1998 and Luis Gonzalez in 2003).
2003
After an injury-shortened 2002 season, Danny opened the year as the starting right-fielder but was unable to fully recapture the offensive numbers he had recorded before a dislocated left shoulder ended the previous campaign ... he was the Opening Day right-fielder for the third straight year, but struggled out of the gate with a .111 average (3-for-27) through nine games ... he interrupted the slide with a three-hit, two-RBI game on April 13 against Milwaukee ... Danny was hit with a pitch by Colorado's Shawn Chacon in the second inning on April 15 and the two exchanged words before Bautista was ejected for waving his bat at Chacon ... the following day Danny sustained a strained right hip flexor on Luis Gonzalez's line-drive double play in the seventh inning, sidelining him for seven games through April 25 ... he had three hits and a career-high tying four RBIs on May 23 vs. San Diego, snapping a 2-2 tie with a go-ahead, three-run homer in the eighth inning of a 5-3 win ... the roundtripper was his first since May 3, 2002, a span of 152 at bats, while the four RBI game was the second of his career and first since September 30, 1993, while playing for Detroit at Boston ... he batted .364 (8-for-22) during a five-game hitting streak from May 28-June 2 ... he drew a walk in the ninth inning on May 31, his lone free pass in 83 at bats in May ... he hit safely in nine of 10 starts from May 20-June 2 at a .366 clip (15-for-41), and batted .313 (30-for-96) over a 24-game stretch from April 29 through June 2 to raise his average from .188 to .271 ... he started 6 consecutive games in center field from June 7-14 ... he left in the second inning of the June 14 affair in Minnesota with a left hamstring strain, suffered while running out a grounder, and was placed on the disabled list on June 19 ... he was activated from the disabled list on July 23 after a 10-game rehab stint with Triple-A Tucson and Double-A El Paso ... he picked up his 500th career hit with a sixth inning double off of Matt Herges on July 24 at Pac Bell Park ... he had a double as a pinch-hitter on August 5 vs. the Expos, his first pinch-hit of the season, igniting a 19-game stretch during which he hit .373 (19-for-51) with five doubles and 13 RBI through September 11 ... he tied his career and season-high with four RBIs on August 23, going 2-for-4 with a three-run homer (#2) and three runs ... he was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and three runs on September 24 at Coors Field, lacing a triple, a solo homer (#3) and a two-run blast (#4), his third career two-homer game and first since the opener of a twinbill on August 31, 2001, at San Diego ... he hit safely in five of his last seven games at a .360 clip (9-for-25) six runs, three doubles, a triple, two homers and five RBIs ... he hit .260 (50-for-192) with seven doubles, a triple, a homer and 19 RBI in his first 56 games from through July before batting .304 (28-for-92) with eight doubles, two triples, three homers and 18 RBI in his final 32 contests spanning August and September.

A vital ingredient of the 2001 World Series title club, Danny earned the opportunity to become the everyday rightfielder after his 2001 post-season performance and was off to a terrific start until one play brought his 2002 regular season to an end...Bautista attempted to make a diving catch on a sinking liner hit by San Francisco's Benito Santiago in the second inning of a May 22 game at Bank One Ballpark, suffering a dislocated left shoulder that required surgery to repair a torn labrum, costing him the remainder of the season...at the time of his injury, Danny was hitting .325 (50-for-154) with 6 home runs and 23 RBI through 40 games...he opened the year with 4 consecutive 2-hit games, knocking in a run in each contest while going 8-for-15 (.533)...he wound up hitting safely in the first 10 games of the season and raised his average to .367 (44-for-120) through May 8, spanning 31 games...overall, Bautista hit safely in 16 of the first 17 games of the year and 24 of the first 27...included was his second career 4-hit game on May 7 in a win at home over the Pirates...he was part of 2-out back-to-back-to-back home runs in the first inning of Arizona's May 3 win at home over Montreal, hitting a 2-run shot off of Bruce Chen followed immediately by solo blasts from Steve Finley and Damian Miller.

hitting safely in 13 of his last 14 regular season games at a .397 clip (23-for-58) with 11 runs scored, 6 doubles, a
triple, 2 homers and 12 RBI ... included was a 10-game hitting streak from September 7-28 when the offense needed it most, as Danny hit .439 (18-for-41) with 8 runs scored and 3 driven in ... dating back to August 26, he batted
.391 (27-for-69) in his last 22 games to raise his season average 41 points to hit over .300 for the first time in his
major league career (.302) ... he homered on September 22 in Dodger Stadium, leading off the 11th inning of a tie
game but the D'Backs couldn't hold the lead and dropped a 6-5 decision ... Danny's best single-game performance
was in the heat of the race, matching a career-best with 2 home runs in the first game of a doubleheader in San
Diego on August 31 to stake the club to a 4-1 win ... it was his second career 2-homer game, first since July 27,
2000, at St.Louis, and snapped a 111-at bat home run dry spell dating back to May 18 in Chicago ... he went 11 for

Opened the year with the Florida Marlins, then joined Arizona on June 10 in exchange for utility man Andy Fox...Danny was hitting .191 at the time of his trade to Arizona, but finished the year hitting .317 (83-for-262) in 3 1/2 months as a Diamondback.
A veteran of 7 major league seasons and 4 different clubs, he established career bests in every offensive category including at bats (351), runs (54), hits (100), doubles (20), triples (7), home runs (11) and RBI (59)...had 5 career triples prior to his trade to Arizona but recorded all 7 of his 3-base hits for 2000 after joining the Diamondbacks.
His first hit as a Diamondback snapped a 2-2 tie with Anaheim on June 11, a 7th-inning home run that completed back-to-back blasts off of Scott Schoeneweis...Greg Colbrunn had tied the game just moments before with a shot to left-center off of Schoeneweis.
Had a career-best 15-game hitting streak from August 15-September 1,
hitting .351 (20-for-57) with 3 doubles, 2 triples, a homer and 17 RBI.
Had a 10-game hitting streak from July 17-28, hitting .438
