Began the 2004 season in the Cardinals organization at Memphis (AAA)... appeared in 19 games before signing with Campeche in the Mexican League...hit .317 with 8 homers and 24 RBI before Houston signed him to a minor league deal...finished the season hitting .337 in 26 games at New Orleans (AAA).

2001

Split time between Pittsburgh and San Diego...played 61 games for the Pirates before he was traded to San Diego for pitcher Shawn Camp and outfielder Shawn Garrett on July 10, 2001.

2000

Spent the majority of the season with Nashville (AAA), hitting .312 with 20 doubles, 5 home runs and 25 RBI in 70 games...saw 3 stints with Pittsburgh being recalled on May 16, June 13 and July 21...was placed on the 15-day D.L. during his 2nd tour on June 19 (urological surgery)...Notched a career-high 4 RBI and hit his 1st homer of the season vs. San Diego, July 28...homered again the following night, giving him 6 RBI in 2 games...Led the Pacifi c Coast League as the league's most profi cient base stealer with 26 stolen bases in 30 attempts (.867 percent)...led all Sounds outfi elders with 9 assists.

1999

Spent full season with Nashville, his 1st action at the Triple-A level...hit .307 with 20 doubles, 18 home runs and 60 RBI...led the club and ranked 5th in the PCL in runs scored (97)...Was recalled by Pittsburgh on Sept. 24 and pinch hit that night at Chicago...started in left at Chicago on Sept. 26 and went 1-for-5...overall was 2-for-14 in 6 games for the Pirates.

1998

Spent a full season with Carolina (AA) and was named to the Double-A All-Star Team...hit .330 (154- 466) with 31 doubles, 14 home runs and 67 RBI in 123 games...Ranked 2nd in the Southern League in batting and 3rd in the Pirates minor league system...led the club in games, runs (89), doubles and stolen bases (24)...hit .350 (105-300) in his fi nal 77 games...Was recalled by Pittsburgh on Sept. 1 and went 10-for-39 (.256) in 13 games.

1997

Spent his 1st full season at the Major League level after being selected in the Rule 5 Draft on Dec. 9, 1996....Made his Major League debut on April 3 at San Francisco and flied out as a pinch hitter...made his 1st big league start (LF) on April 8 at San Diego and collected his 1st hit off Fernando Valenzuela...Hit his 1st Major League home run on May 28, 1997 off Chicago's Terry Mulholland.
