Non-roster invitee to spring training...Began the season as a reliever with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (AAA)...Had his contract purchased on 4/26 (Julio Santana DL'ed) and made his Phillies debut that night vs COL (1.0 IP), his 1st ML appearance since 5/12/03 vs FLA...Optioned back to Scranton on 5/6 (Julio Santana activated) after 4 appearances...Had a 20.2-inning scoreless streak with Scranton, 4/14-7/2...Did not allow an ER in his final 9 triple-A appearances (10.0 IP)...Recalled again on 9/3...Went 1-0, 1.00 ERA (1 ER, 9.0 IP) through his first 6 ML appearances of the season.
2005
Went to camp with the Phillies as a non-roster invitee...Began the season with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (AAA)...Finished T-2nd in the International League with 2 complete games...Allowed 1 ER in 3 of his first 4 starts...pitched 1.0 scoreless inning in his lone relief appearance of the season, 5/3 at Buffalo...Went 2-0, 2.11 ERA in 4 June starts...Had his contract purchased on 7/21, but was optioned back to Scranton on 7/24 without appearing in a game...Allowed 3 ER or less in 19 of 24 starts (79.1%), including 11 straight, 5/26-8/9...Did not allow a HR in 8 consecutive starts, 6/7-8/3.

Pitched the entire season for Scranton...Led the team in starts (27) and innings (155.0)...Compiled the 7th-most innings in the IL...Had a 1.85 ERA after his first 6 starts of the season...Allowed the 5th-most HR (23) in the IL...His 206 hits allowed were the 3rd-most in team history, behind Calvin Maduro (211) and Blaise Ilsley (210)...Was the starting pitcher in Scranton's 19-18 win, 7/25 vs Toledo (1.2 IP, 10 H, 11 ER).

Was a member of SD's Opening Day roster... Took the loss in relief on Opening Day after giving up 3 runs on 2 HR in 1.0 IP, 3/31 vs SF...Picked up his 2nd career win in his 1st start, 4/4 vs LA...Split his final 7 ML appearances between the bullpen and the rotation...Placed on the 15-day DL with a left oblique strain, 5/16 (retroactive to 5/13)...Rehabbed with Portland (AAA) before being activated and optioned back to the club on 7/7...Named the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week, 6/30-7/6...Went 2-0, 1.47 ERA in his first 3 starts but went 1-3, 5.24 ERA over his final 8...Was pulled after 1.2 IP, 7/23 at Sacramento, after twisting an ankle while fielding a sharp liner...Twisted an ankle in his start, 8/8 at Salt Lake, and missed his next scheduled start as a precautionary measure...At the plate, drove in 6 runs over a 4-game span that he had an at-bat, 7/28-8/23.

Began season with Atlantic City (Ind.)...Pitched at least 6.0 innings in 12 of 19 starts...Was 4-0, 2.75 ERA in 6 July starts...Signed by Phillies on 8/18 and assigned to Scranton...Went 2-0 in 4 starts during regular season...Made one start in International League playoffs (ND, 6.1 IP, 1 ER).
