Attended Leto High School in Tampa and Central Florida High School in Ocalab& attended Central Florida Community College in Ocala b&selected in the 44th round of the June 1989 free-agent draft by the Yankeesb&met his wife Nicole while playing winter ball in Australiab&resides in Tampa, Fla.
2000
Split the season between the Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers organizations; combined to play in 68 games, hitting .243 with nine homers and 31 RBIsb&began the season with the Red Sox, spending time at Triple-A Pawtucket and Double-A Trenton batting .143 in ten games, all as catcherb&signed with the Dodgers on June 16. At Triple-A Albuquerque played in 15 games and hit .371, playing 11 games as catcher, two in the outfield and one at firstb&with the Dodgers double-A affiliate in San Antonio was primarily used as a catcher and DH in 43 games; hit .236 with eight home runs and 21 RBIs.

Played only four games with Columbus (AAA) due to a torn ACL suffered on 4/8 at Norfolkb&was sidelined the remainder of the season.
