2006

Spent majority of the season with Sacramento (AAA) with two stints for the Oakland A's...Had no decisions and a 4.50 ERA in 11 relief appearances with the A's and was 9-5 with a 3.83 ERA in 25 games, 16 starts, at Triple-A Sacramento...Was selected by the A's on 5/12 and had two stints with OAK in 2006. Began the season at Triple-A Louisville but finished it with Cincinnati where he was 2-1 with a 6.27 ERA in 24 games, four starts...made his first 20 appearances of the season with the Reds in relief, going 2-0 with a 6.69 ERA...his last four appearances were as a starter and he was 0-1 with a 5.40 ERA...began the season at Louisville and made nine appearances there, including seven starts, before he was promoted on May 23, when Danny Graves was designated for assignment...tossed two or more innings in 10 of his 20 relief appearances with the Reds, including four outings of three or more...made his Cincinnati debut on May 24 against Washington and threw 2.0 hitless innings to pick up the 4-3 victory (1 bb)...in that game, produced the game-winning run with an RBI single off Luis Ayala in the 14th inning...it was his first Major League hit and first career RBI...became the first pitcher with a game-ending RBI since Milwaukee's Glendon Rusch did it in the 14th inning on April 19, 2003 against Houston...in his 9-7 victory on June 7 against Tampa Bay, his 6.1 innings in relief and eight strikeouts were career bests and the highest totals by any National League reliever in 2005...the eight strikeouts tied the Chicago White Sox' Brandon McCarthy for most by any reliever in the majors in 2005...it was the longest relief outing by a Reds pitcher since Rick Mahler's 6.1-inning stint on August 9, 1990 against Los Angeles...had the most strikeouts by a Reds reliever since Scott Sullivan's also fanned eight on June 27, 1998 at Detroit...in that game he also produced his first career two-hit game, including his first ML home run (off Mark Hendrickson)...was on the 15-day Disabled List from June 20 to July 14 with an inflammation in his left elbow...went 2-0 with a 5.49 ERA in eight games prior to landing on the DL and 0-1 with a 6.69 ERA in four starts and 12 relief appearances after his return...in his last two appearances prior to going on the DL (June 17 and 19 against Atlanta), he allowed seven hits and seven earned runs in 1.2 innings...over those two outings his ERA rose from 2.50 to 5.49...on September 14 at Chicago, he replaced Luke Hudson in the rotation and, in his first start since 2003, received a no decision in the 11-inning, 7-4 victory (5.0 ip, 4 h, 3 er, 4 bb, 5 so, 1 hr)...was 5-2 with two saves and a 2.88 ERA in 12 games, seven starts, for Louisville...that includes three rehab appearances from July 4 to 10 when he was 2-0 with a save and a 2.25 ERA (8.0 ip, 11 h, 2 er, 1 bb, 5 so)...was named International League Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 18-24 when he was 1-0 with a 1.74 ERA in two starts.

2004

Was signed by the Mets to a minor league contract on March 5 and spent the season at Triple-A Norfolk...went 6-7 with a 3.81 ERA in 21 starts and one relief appearance for the Tides...also made one relief appearance at Single-A St. Lucie...that came on June 14 against Lakeland while he was on Norfolk's disabled list...was on the DL from May 20 to June 14 with a strained right hamstring...in a loss on August 29 at Durham, he allowed a season high 10 earned runs in a season low 2.2 innings...his overall ERA at Norfolk without that appearance drops to 3.18.

2003

Made 22 appearances at the Triple-A Level with Portland, Oklahoma and New Orleans and two starts in the Majors with San Diego...signed a Minor League contract with San Diego on February 24...began the year at Portland and was 5-1 with a 2.61 ERA in eight games, six starts...made his Major League appearances, both starts, in the 6-5 Padres loss on May 19 at Milwaukee and a 9-5 loss on May 25 at Arizona...was 0-1 with a 12.00 ERA in two starts when he was outrighted off the roster on May 29...elected free agency on June 5 and signed a Minor League contract with Texas on June 16...was 0-2 with an 8.53 ERA in five games, two starts, with Oklahoma and was released on July 14...signed a Minor League contract with Houston on July 17 and spent the rest of the minor league season at New Orleans...was 2-3 with a 4.28 ERA in nine starts with New Orleans and combined to go 7-6 with a 4.13 ERA in 22 games, 17 starts, at the minor league level.

Missed the entire season while recovering from his October 30, 2001 left shoulder surgery.

2001

Appeared in 10 games during two stints with the Yankees from April 11 to 17 and June 14 to July 26...was 1-2 with a 6.22 ERA in his outings, all starts...his only win came on June 14 against Montreal...was the Opening Day starter at Triple-A Columbus and was 5-7 with a 5.18 ERA in 18 starts...for the Clippers averaged 8.14 strikeouts per nine innings, the fifth-best ratio among International League starting pitchers...on May 2 vs. Indianapolis, he threw a one-hit shutout to earn IL Pitcher of the Week honors...earned the award again following a performance on June 3 vs. Buffalo, when he established a Columbus single-game record for strikeouts with 18 in 7.2 innings...he struck out the side four times...had arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder (Dr. James Andrews) on October 30.

2000

Spent the minor league season at Double-A Norwich and Triple-A Columbus before he was promoted to New York on September 5...in the minors, he went 14-5 with a 2.85 ERA in 28 starts...was USA Today's Minor League Player of the Year for the Yankees and won the Kevin Lawn Award as the organization's Pitcher of the Year...was Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 21-27...at Columbus fell two outs shy of qualifying for the International League ERA title (3.02)...made his Major League debut on September 10 at Boston, started and earned the victory...made his last three appearances of the season for New York in relief.

1999

Combined to go 14-8 with a 3.52 ERA in 27 starts for Single-A Greensboro and Tampa and Double-A Norwich...was Greensboro's Opening Day starter...in three of his four starts with Greensboro he recorded at least 10 strikeouts and in the other outing had 9...was promoted to Tampa on April 28 and won his first four starts...was promoted to Norwich on July 16...was on the disabled list with left shoulder tendinitis from August 4 to 16...went 3-1 with a 1.44 ERA in his first four starts after he was reinstated from the DL.

1998

Signed his first professional contract on July 21 and appeared in six games, including two starts, for Single-A Oneonta in the New York-Penn League...was 1-1 with a save and a 7.45 ERA...tossed just 9.2 innings.
