Resides in Olathe, KS...received an Associate of Arts Degree from Johnson County (KS) Community College...attended the University of Arkansas prior to being drafted by the Royals in the 22nd round of the 1996 June draft.
2005
Played in four games at Triple-A Tacoma from 4/7-10 before having his contract sold by Seattle to the Lotte Giants of the Korean Baseball Organization.
Was batting .417 (5-for-12) with three runs, a home run and three RBI for the Rainers at the time of his departure. Was penciled into the lineup as designated hitter for three games and played first base the other.
Batted .284 (113-for-398) in 109 games for Lotte. Belted 23 home runs and drove in 69, while posting 41 walks and 84 strikeouts, as the historically cellar-dwelling club finished in 5th place out of eight teams with a 58-67 record.
2004
Made Colorado's Opening Day roster as one of nine non-roster invitees to make the team out of spring training...got the start on Opening Day in left field, going 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts at ARI...went on to play five different positions while appearing in a career-high 59 games (26 starts)...set career marks in hits (29), home runs (2), runs (15) and RBI (10)...broke up Tom Glavine's no-hit bid with a eighth inning double at Shea Stadium on 5/23, the Rockies' only hit in a 4-0 loss...batted .357 with 14 RBI in 13 games with Colorado Springs.
2003
Pellow was used at just about every position with AAA-Colorado Springs this season and filled that same role with the Rockies after joining the team as a September call-up at Triple A, he started 50 games at first base, 22 behind the plate, 7 at third base, 2 in left field and 2 as the team's DH his action in left field and as catcher was the first ever of his professional career then as a Rockie, he started 2 games at catcher, one at first base and one in left field during the final month of the season a non-roster invitee to spring training, Kit was reassigned to minor league camp on March 23 would go on to spent the rest of the Triple A season with Colorado Springs, where he batted .291 (93-for-320) with a team-leading 19 home runs in 89 games drove in 57 runs, second to only Garrett Atkins (67) on the squad opened the year by batting .300 (24-for-80) clip in April continued his hot hitting into May where he was 6-for-17 in four games before pulling a rib cage muscle and being placed on the minor league disabled list May 8 (retro to May 5) went on a rehab assignment with Single A Asheville from June 14-20, batting .450 (9-for-20) in 6 games rejoined Colorado Springs June 21 and would go on to bat .287 (64-for-223) the rest of the season led the Sky Sox in homers and RBI in the of month July with 10 and 22 respectively after finishing out August, Pellow was included as one of the club's major league call-ups on Sept. 5 played in 18 games for the Rockies, batting at a .444 (8-for-18) clip with 3 doubles, a triple, a homer and 4 RBI his first action came Sept. 6 vs. Los Angeles as a pinch hitter (0-for-1, K) then got his first start on Sept. 11 at St. Louis and went 2-for-3 with a home run and a career-high 3 RBI the HR was the second of his ML career, and first since Aug. 20, 2002 with Kansas City his next start came at first base Sept. 14 vs. Randy Johnson and the Diamondbacks where he went 0-for-3 during the Big Unit's 1-hit shutout started two more games, both behind the plate on Sept. 19 vs. San Diego, Kit set a career high with 4 hits (4-for-4) as well as 3 runs scored and 3 doubles the 3 doubles were not only a career high but also matched the franchise record for the 21st time all told as a starter, Pellow was a combined 7-for-13 he went 0-for-2 as a pinch hitter in the field, he committed no errors in 24 total chances.
2002
Recalled by the Royals on Aug. 13, Pellow made his major league debut on Aug. 14 vs. the Yankees...got the start at first base and went 0-for-4 with a strikeout...in game No. 2 of his ML career, Aug. 18 at Tampa, Kit went 2-for-4 with a RBI...for the year with the Royals, he batted .238 (15-for-63) with a double, a homer and 2 RBI...his lone homer came in his third game, Aug. 20 at Toronto off Justin Miller...hit safely in eight of his first 10 games, including the Aug. 31st contest when he singled in the go-ahead run in a 4-2 win over the Mariners...opened the year at Triple A Omaha for the fourth consecutive season...in 105 games, he hit 27 homers and 76 RBI, becoming Omaha's all-time leader in each category (106 HR and 337 RBI)...it was the fourth time in as many years Pellow has connected on 20-or-more clouts...the 27 bombs were the most since he hit 35 in 1999...averaged a homer once every 14.89 AB's, the fourth best ratio in the Pacific Coast League...was batting .313 (15-for-48) in the month of August before being recalled.
2001
Spent the entire season with the Omaha Royals at the Triple A level, appearing in 129 games...hit a career-best .291 (141-for-484) with 15 doubles, 20 homers and 81 RBI...the 81 RBI paced the Royals and were the second most in his career.
2000
With Omaha, Pellow batted .249 (105-for-421) in 117 games...made 116 appearances at first base, marking the first action at 1B since his rookie season of 1996...he added 17 doubles, 22 homers and 75 RBI to his 2000 resume...the RBI were the most on the Omaha squad at year's end.
1999
In his first full season at AAA Omaha, Kit was named to the PCL All-Star team, as well as the Topps Minor League Baseball Class AAA post-season All-Star squad...finished second in the PCL in homers (35), HR per at-bat (1/13.57), third in extra base hits (67) and RBI (99) and fifth in total bases (277).
1998
Opened the season with AA-Wichita, but finished the year in Triple A...in Double A, he hit at a .267 (100-for-374) clip with 29 homers and 73 RBI...the homers were the second most in the league, helping him get selected to the Texas League All-Star squad...played in only 14 games at Triple A.
1997
Spent the first half of the season at Lansing (A) before getting promoted to AA-Wichita...batted a combined .274...was selected to the Single A Midwest All-Star team.
1996
In his first professional season, Kit batted .287 (80-for-279 ) with 18 doubles, 18 homers and 66 RBI for Spokane...he led the Northwest League in RBI, as well as slugging percentage (.559).
