Randy Alan Flores...married to Lindsey...graduated from El Rancho (Pica Rivera, CA) High School...attended the University of Southern California where he earned a spot on the baseball team as a walk-on in 1994...went on to become USC's all-time record holder for career wins (42)...also is the Trojan's career leader in innings pitched (484.1)...earned All-Pac 10 honors three times and was also named Pac-10 Co-Pitcher-of-the-Year in 1995...his younger brother Ron, pitched for the Long Island Ducks (Independent League) in 2009 and has played in the Major Leagues for the Oakland A's.

Joined Rox shortly after the club began Spring Training, and spent most of the remainder of camp with the Major League club...began the 2009 campaign with Triple-A Colorado Springs as a member of the club's bullpen...posted a 5.51 ERA (16.1 ip, 10 er) in 15 appearances for the Sky Sox prior to his first stint with Colorado...had his contract purchased from Triple-A on 5/15...marked his 2nd career stint with the Rockies, as he also pitched briefly for Colorado in his first Major League season of 2002...made his first big league appearance on 5/16 at PIT by tossing 1.1 scoreless innings with a strikeout; the 1.1 innings would be the most he tossed in a Major League game all season...he made 9 consecutive scoreless appearances to begin his season with the Rockies from 5/16- 6/10...he tossed a total of just 5.0 innings in the 9 appearances, as 6 of his 9 appearances were less than a full inning...allowed runs in back-to-back games 6/11 and 6/16 following his 9 consecutive scoreless appearances...he would go on to make five more appearances before being optioned back to Colorado Springs on 7/7...appeared in his final game before being optioned on 7/4 vs. ARI and allowed a 2-run home run to Stephen Drew in 0.2 of an inning...after his option he made 23 appearances for the Sky Sox, and posted a 2.35 ERA (15.1 ip, 5 er) over the 23 games...he struck out 20 batters in his 15.1 innings...on the season with the Sky Sox Flores went 0-2 with a 4.26 ERA (31.2 ip, 15 er) in 38 appearances... Flores was added to Colorado's active roster when the rosters expanded to include all eligible 40- man members on 9/1...made 11 appearances following his recall, tossing less than 1.0 full inning in each appearance...allowed runs in just 2 of his 11 appearances from the beginning of September and on...notched holds on 9/8 vs. CIN, 9/22 vs. SD and 9/27 vs. STL with scoreless appearances...allowed just 3 hits following his recall, as opponents hit just .200 against him in September...for the season he finished 3rd on the team with his 10 holds, despite making just 27 appearances...the left-handed specialist held lefties to a .265 (9-for-34) average with Colorado this season...he tossed less than a full inning in 23 of his 27 appearances on the season...2009 was his 5th straight season to make at least 25 apps in the Majors.

Spent most of the first half with St. Louis before season was interrupted by trips to both DL and minors, followed by left shoulder surgery at season's end...allowed just one unearned run thru 5/4, posting a 0.00 ERA in his first 12 games (7.1 ip)...threw just one pitch 4/5 vs. WSH & earned his 4th career save by getting final out...earned Win #1 on 5/5 at COL after allowing tying run, but K'd final two batters in 8th...was DLed from 6/26-7/17 with left ankle tendonitis and missed 18 games...returned to STL active roster on 7/18 after appearing in 3 games (4.0 ip/0 er) on rehab assignment with Memphis from 7/8- 12...worked a season-high 1.2 scoreless ip on 7/25 at NY, allowing three hits...was optioned to Memphis (AAA) on 7/30 where he went 0-1 with a save and 3.14 ERA (14.1 ip / 5 er) in his 12 outings prior to recall on 9/1...appeared in just six Sept. games, totaling 2.0 ip...had arthroscopic surgery, performed by Dr. George Paletta, on 9/25 for a cyst and labral fraying of his left shoulder.
2007
Lefty set a career-high with 70 appearances and went 3-0 with one save and a 4.25 ERA. Ended the season going 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA in September and began the year going 1-0 with a 2.00 ERA in April. Allowed runs in just nine of 38 home outings (30.1 IP / 13 ER, 3.26 ERA). Allowed runs (2) in just one of last 13 outings (10.2 IP). Only 16 of his 71 hits allowed went for x-bases, including 6 of 31 hits allowed to LHB's. Appeared in 11 Grapefruit League games and posted a 1.69 ERA (10.2 IP / 2 ER). Fanned L. Berkman in 8th inning on 4/6 at HOU for final out of inning, earning 1st Hold. Fanned two in 1.0 IP 4/18 at SF for his 2nd Hold. Retired all 5 batters faced 4/22 in CHI. Gained win despite allowing his first run of the year in the 9th on 4/25 vs. CIN. Faced minimum 6 batters in 2.0 scoreless IP 5/7 vs. COL. Had a strikeout (12 total) in 9 straight appearances from 4/18-5/13 with just two walks in those 9.0 IP. Worked 1.1 scoreless IP 5/25 vs. WSH his longest outing since 5/7 vs. COL (2.0 IP). Entered 6/14 contest at KC in 2nd inning & allowed 3 runs on 5 hits...was pressed into early action again (4th inning) on 6/16 at OAK & yielded 3 runs (Ellis-HR) in 1.2 IP. Worked scoreless inning 6/20 vs. KC, fanning 3 batters while allowing 2 hits. A Ryan Howard fly out to RF with runners on 1st & 3rd and two out on 6/23 earned him 10th Hold. Recorded final 2 outs in 11th inning on 6/26 at NY for 1st save of season & 3rd of career. Recorded two outs to end the 7th on 7/7 vs. SF, but 3 errors allowed two IR's to score and two unearned runs of his own. Induced inning-ending DP by McLouth in 7th on 7/31 at PIT for 12th Hold. Had 8-game scoreless streak (6.1 IP) snapped 8/6, allowing a run on three hits in the 9th inn. vs. SD. Gained 14th Hold 8/25 vs. ATL, fanning 2 with 3 hits & BB. Worked 2.0 scoreless IP 8/30 vs. CIN & gained his 2nd win. Credited with Win #3 on 9/19 vs. PHI, fanning two in the 10th.
2006
Completed his 2nd full-season with the big-league club and ranked 2nd on the team with 20 Holds (Wainwright-23)...Made a career-high 65 appearances and matched his innings pitched total (41.2) from 2005...Allowed 5 homers on the year with 4 coming in Sept., including two on 9/29 vs. MIL...Broke a string of 10-straight outings (6.0 IP) without allowing a run 9/10 at ARI as he suffered his first blown save of '06...Earned his only win 8/26 vs. CHI. Retired the side 8/7 at CIN in the 7th inning, with 2 Ks...Stranded runners at 2nd & 3rd 7/30 at CHI to record final two outs in the 6th inn...Gained his 16th Hold 7/25 at COL retiring Helton & Hawpe for final outs in 8th...Stranded 2 runners & recorded final 2 outs 7/23 at LA, including game-ending strikeout...Allowed a season high five hits & four runs 7/17 vs. ATL in his first action since 7/8...Pitched in all 3 games of July 3-5 series at ATL, allowed no runs and fanned 3...Did not record an out 7/1 vs. KC, walking 3 (season & career high)...Allowed no hits & just one run in 7 appearances (4.1 IP) from 6/5-18 with 7 K's...Matched season high with 1.1 IP 6/11 at MIL & earned his 10th Hold...Suffered loss 6/10 at MIL as he allowed his first run since 5/21, snapping six game scoreless streak (5.0 IP)...Matched season high with 1.1 IP on 5/27 at SD for Hold...His first outing of 2006 came in relief of Carpenter on 4/3 at PHI when he allowed a leadoff single before retiring the next four. Pitched a dominant 1-2-3 8th inning on 4/6 at PHI...Enjoyed a strong showing in the postseason with two Holds and a win while allowing no runs in his seven appearances (5.2 IP)...worked a scoreless 7th in Game 2 of WS, his lone appearance in the Series...was credited with the win in Game 7 of the NLCS with 1.0 inning of relief, coming in with one out & retiring the next three batters on 2K's & a groundout...induced flyout by Shawn Green with two on in Game 5 of LCS, his one batter faced...went 0.2 IP in the 5th inning of Game 4 & faced six batters in 1.1 IP in LCS Game 2...earned a Hold with 0.2 IP in Game 2 of Division Series at SD...did not allow any of his six inherited runners to score during postseason and retired 5 of 7 first batters faced.

Had 11 holds on the year...Held LH batters to .171 BA (13-for-76) & 2 HR's (Jenkins, MIL and Patterson, CHI)...Allowed earned runs in just 10 of his 50 games pitched...Fanned five batters in his 3.0 IP of relief 4/9 vs. PHI, most by STL reliever since '03...Allowed bases-loaded walk to force home tying run in 7th on 4/30 at ATL then got three outs to keep the game tied at 2-2. Posted 10th Hold on 8/25 at PIT despite allowing a run on two hits in 0.1 IP...Had surgery to remove a bone spur in his left elbow on 10/28...procedure was performed by Dr. George Paletta at Barnes Jewish West County Hospital.

Was 5-7 with two saves in 36 games (15 starts) for Memphis (AAA)...Won five of his last six decisions at Memphis...His 3.82 ERA was 7th best in the Pacific Coast League. Had 99 K's in 122.2 IP for the Redbirds and held opposing LH batters to a .184 BA (25-136), fanning 38 while walking just six...Blanked Omaha for 7.0 IP on 7/20 [2] for CG shutout...Worked 1.1 IP in relief as member of PCL staff in Triple-A All-Star game...Lefthander was brought to St. Louis in late August to take the roster spot of injured Steve Kline...Made nine appearances for the Cardinals, eight in relief. Had just a 1.93 ERA in those outings, allowing just 13 hits and three runs in 14.0 IP...Retired seven of eight first batters faced in relief (88%). Held opposing LH batters to a .235 BA (4-17)...Was purchased from Memphis (AAA) on 8/28 and made his STL debut on 9/2, working a scoreless 9th in 7-2 win vs. SD...Went 2.0 scoreless innings in relief on 9/25 at COL to earn his first ML win...Went a season high 3.0 IP of relief 9/27 at HOU, allowing just one run on two hits...On 9/30 vs. MIL, went 2.0 IP, allowed no runs, two hits and struck out two...Drew start in season finale on 10/3 vs. MIL and worked 3.0 IP, allowing one run on four hits.
2003
Spent entire season at Triple-A Colorado Springs where he went 10-8 with 4.98 ERA (142.2 IP, 79 ER)...his 67 walks ranked second in league play...his best month came in April when he posted a 2.96 ERA (9 ER, 27.1 IP), going 3-1 and striking out 32...appeared in four games out of the bullpen, tossing 10.0 innings and recording a 2-1 record...won back-to-back starts twice (4/25 vs. Albuquerque and 4/30 at Sacramento; 5/16 at Tucson and 5/21 vs. Iowa)...on 6/30 vs. Iowa, tossed 8.0 shutout innings to earn seventh win of season...fanned a season-high eight batters twice (4/30 at Sacramento and 5/21 vs. Iowa).
2002
Appeared in 15 games out of the bullpen for Triple-A Oklahoma (1-1, 5.75 ERA, 20.1 IP, 16 K) before earning his first Major League callup by TEX on 4/23 vs. TOR...retired his only batter faced (Darrin Fletcher)...was claimed off waivers by COL on 7/18...made seven starts for Triple-A Colorado Springs, going 2-2 with a 3.28 ERA...was recalled by COL and in an extra inning loss 9/9 vs. HOU, suffered his first Major League defeat...made his first ML start in place of the injured Mike Hampton on 9/20 vs. ARI and Curt Schilling...did not receive a decision...in second ML start, faced Randy Johnson at Bank One Ballpark in ARI and suffered the loss...overall went 0-2 with a 9.53 ERA in 17.0 innings for COL.
2001
Pitched out of the bullpen in three games for Triple-A Columbus, before being sent back to Double-A Norwich...went 14-6 with a 2.78 ERA (49 ER, 158.2 IP) in 25 starts...his 14 wins ranked third in the league as did his two shutouts...fanned 115 batters...was traded by the Yankees to Texas on 10/11 along with RHP Rosman Garcia to complete a trade in which TEX sent the Yankees INF Randy Velarde for two players to be named on 8/31.
