Spent most of the season at Class AAA Charlotte, hitting .283 (111-392) with 27 doubles, 20 home runs and 69 RBI in 101 games...tied for fourth in the organization in home runs and ranked eighth in RBI...appeared in 65 games at third base and 16 at first...began the season with the Knights...his contract was purchsed by Chicago on 5/17...collected a pinch-hit single that night vs. Texas, his first Major League hit since 2008...was designated for assignment on 5/30...was on Charlotte's disabled list from 7/4-14 with a strained right groin...was a non-roster invitee to Spring Training.
2010
Spent the entire season with Class AAA Sacramento in the Oakland organization, batting .267 (85-318) with 17 doubles, 22 home runs and 75 RBI in 84 games ... was on the disabled list on two occasions with a strained left hamstring (4/17-5/3 and 9/3-remainder of season) ... was a non-roster invitee to spring training with the A's ... signed by the White Sox as a free agent on 11/10.
2009
Was with the Florida Marlins during Spring Training and batted .239 with a home run and seven RBI in 16 games before he was released March 31...signed by the San Francisco Giants to a minor league contract April 10 but missed the entire season with back problems.
2008
Led all Minor League Baseball with 42 home runs at Triple-A Albuquerque...took home the Joe Bauman trophy, given annually to the MiLB home run leader, and team MVP award...also earned Topps Triple-A All-Star honors as the designated hitter...his 42 home runs marked a single-season high at the Minor League level...opened the season by homering in his first three games and finished the month of April with 10 home runs...collected a hit in 16 of the 22 games he played in April...his best offensive month came in June as he posted a .358 average with 11 homers and 21 RBI in 26 games... earned Pacific Coast League Player of the Week honors for June 23-29 by batting .474 (9 for 19) with four home runs and nine RBI...also named to the PCL All-Star team, as well as the All-PCL Team following the season...collected a season-high four hits twice; July 22 vs. Sacramento and July 27 vs. Fresno...hit three home runs in a game two times; May 19 vs. Round Rock and July 27 vs. Fresno... owned four multi-homer games on the season...homered in seven straight games from June 8 to 27 to tie a PCL and MiLB record, and had an RBI streak of 11 games, June 18-July 1 (17 RBI total)...drove in a season-high five runs Aug. 30 at Round Rock...recalled by the Marlins Sept. 2 and posted two hits in 11 at-bats over 11 games.
2007
Missed entire season while recovering from lower back surgery...underwent surgery January 22 to have a central disk herniation removed and some of the spurring shaved down...procedure was performed by Orthopedic Spine Surgeon Dr. Andrew Dossett at the Carrell Memorial Clinic in Dallas.
2006
In another injury-plagued season, McPherson hit .261 with seven home runs and 13 RBIs in 115 at-bats for the Angels in 2006. The corner infielder battled back spasms and a herniated disk, and he will try to be ready by Spring Training by rehabbing this offseason in Arizona. McPherson spent three months on the disabled list. He hit the first inside-the-park home run in his career on June 17 against the Padres. McPherson batted .250 with 17 home runs and 45 RBIs in 56 games for Triple-A Salt Lake, where he spent the first month of the season.
2005
An injury-plagued season limited him to 61 games with Angels ... Missed most of Spring Training due to back spasms and opened season at Triple-A Salt Lake ... Batted .308 (12/39; 3 HR, 14 RBI) in 10 rehab games with Stingers ... Recalled from Salt Lake, April 18 ... In 61 games with Angels, hit .244 (50/205) with eight home runs and 22 RBI ... Six of eight HRs came at Angel Stadium ... Tallied seven HR and 23 RBI in last 31 games (1 HR, 3 RBI in first 30 games) ... 18 of last 31 hits were for extra bases ... Hit game-tying, pinch-hit two-run HR with two-out in ninth inning 6/29 at Texas ... Homered in three straight games, 5/26-28, second Angel to do so in 2005 (Guerrero) ... Hit in career-best eight consecutive games, May 25-June 1 ... First career walk-off HR in 10th inning, 5/27 vs. KC ... Placed on 15-day DL July 8 with left hip inflammation ... Had rehab stint at Class A Rancho Cucamonga (Aug. 3-7), hitting .438 (7/16; 2 HR, 5 RBI) before opting for surgery ...
