Full name FELIX PIE (pee-yay)...One son, Felix, daughter, Dhilisse...Signed by Cubs as non-drafted free agent on July 3, 2001 by scout Jose Serra...Won league championships with his first four professional teams (Mesa and Boise in 2002, Lansing in 2003 and Daytona in 2004)...Lost Southern League finals with West Tenn in 2005...Played in 2007 and 2008 NLDS with Cubs.
2011
He spent most of the 2011 season with 85 games played for the Orioles before concluding the season in Triple-A Norfolk. In his career vs. the Indians he owns a career batting average of .326 (14-43) with 5 2B, 3HR & 10RBI in 11 games...Hit .273 (44-161) in 42 games for Estrellas after the season with 9 2B, 2 3B, 4HR & 21RBI in 42 games...Was 2nd in the DR Winter League in extra base hits (15) and T3rd in doubles (9)...Was designated for assignment on August 23 after batting .220/.264/.280 in 85 games with the O's...Batted .303 in his first 25 games this season before hitting .198/.255/.244 in his final 60 games...Was 1-for-16 against LHP.

Set career highs in batting average (.274), hits (79), runs (39), 2B (15), 3B (5), and RBI (31) ... Hit first career leadoff HR on April 12 vs. TB off Matt Garza ... Placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 16 with an upper back muscle strain and was transferred to the 60-day DL on April 21 ... Reinstated from the DL on July 6, and had two hits and an RBI that night at Detroit ... Hit safely in 12 of 13 games July 31-August 13, batting .392 (20-51) with a .627 SLG during that stretch ... Became the fourth Oriole to hit for the cycle on August 14 vs. LAA, joining Aubrey Huff (June 29, 2007), Cal Ripken Jr. (May 6, 1984) and Brooks Robinson (June 15, 1960)... Pie batted .283 in 141 games at Triple-A Iowa, hitting 33 doubles, eight triples and 15 home runs with 57 RBIs. He also stole 17 bases, and was expected to improve on that stat after working with former Cub Bobby Dernier on his baserunning. Pie did strike out 126 times.

Felix spent the entire season at West Tenn (AA), batting .304 with 11 home runs and 25 RBI in 59 games ... named to the Southern League midseason all-star team ... selected by Baseball America as the eighth-best prospect in the Southern League and the best prospect in the Cubs organization ... had a 12-game hitting streak from May 2-15, batting .388 (19-49) with 3 home runs over the span ... began the season by batting .358 (29-81) during 20 games in April with 17 runs scored ... did not appear in a game after June 16, as he broke his right ankle while sliding into third base while legging out a triple.

Felix saw action in 106 games for Daytona (A), batting .301 while stealing a career-high 32 bases ... was selected as a Florida State League postseason all-star ... honored by Baseball America as the second-best prospect in the Cubs organization ... the publication also honored Pie as the best athlete, best defensive outfielder and as having the best outfield arm in the organization ... had 38 multi-hit games - including a six-game stretch May 28-June 2, when he went 16-27 (.593) with 5 extra-base hits and 5 RBI.

Pie appeared in 124 games for Lansing (A), batting .285 with a career-high 22 doubles and 47 RBI ... selected as a Midwest League postseason all-star ... had a pair of 4-hit games, going 4-for-4 with 2 RBI June 23 and 4-for-5 July 19.

Made his professional debut by batting .321 in 55 games for the Mesa (Rookie) Cubs ... led the league with 13 triples ... selected as the Arizona League co-MVP (along with teammate Matt Creighton) and was selected to the league postseason all-star squad ... honored by Baseball America as the league's top prospect ... appeared in two games for Boise (A), going 1-for-8 with 1 RBI.
