Saw action with both the Colorado Rockies and the Toronto Blue Jays...Spent Spring Training and April recovering from right elbow surgery which he underwent in June, 2009...Combined for a 1-0 record with a 3.75 ERA (five earned runs/12.0 innings) in nine games out of the bullpen...Started his year on May 5 with Modesto (A) of the California League on a rehabilitation assignment...After three appearances, he joined Colorado Springs (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League on May 13...Recalled by the Rockies on July 24 and appeared in seven games before he was claimed off waivers by Toronto on September 9...Pitched 2.0 scoreless innings for the Blue Jays on September 19 vs. Boston and September 30 vs. Minnesota.

2004

Spent the season at Triple-A New Orleans and made 17 starts (20 appearances)...went 6-7 with a 5.23 ERA (57ER/98IP)...marked his first season in the Astros organization after being acquired from Philadelphia along with Brandon Duckworth and Ezequiel Astacio on Nov. 3, 2003...right shoulder tightness sidelined him for the second half of the season...placed on the Disabled List from July 19-Aug. 13 and from Aug. 29 through the remainder of the season...made just two relief appearances in August...tossed two shutout innings on Aug. 16...fanned a season-high 10 batters on July 4 vs. Oklahoma for the win (7IP, 2ER, 1BB)...allowed just one run on two hits over 8.1 innings on June 28 vs. Albuquerque...lost five of his first six starts, then won six of his next 10 starts...notched his first win on May 15 at Tucson...tossed a seven-inning complete game on May 10 vs. Memphis...rated as the No. 7 prospect in the Astros system by Baseball America heading into the 2005 season.
