Logan French Kensing...Is a 2001 graduate of Boerne (TX) High School, where he earned four letters in baseball...Posted a 27-10 record in his four years of high school ball and led his club to four district championships...Went 9-3 as a pitcher and hit .390 as a senior...Also earned three letters as an All-District receiver in football...Attended Texas A&M University and went 3-2 with two saves and a 2.50 ERA in 21 games during his freshman season in 2002...Went 7-5 with one save and a 3.83 ERA in 20 games (10 starts) as a sophomore.

2013

Spent most of the season with AAA Colorado Springs after signing a minor league contract…was 2-5 with 15 saves and a 3.05 ERA (15 ER, 44.1 IP) with 41 strikeouts in 44 relief appearances…selected to Major League roster June 16 and appeared in one game (June 19 at TOR)…designated for assignment on June 21 and outrighted to the minors on June 23…posted a 1.88 ERA (6 ER, 28.2 IP) in 27 games before the All-Star break and a 5.17 ERA (9 ER, 15.2 IP) in final 17 relief outings with Colorado Springs.

2012

Made three stops in the Pirates organization from Single-A up to AAA…compiled a 3-1 record with a 3.97 ERA (17 ER, 34.0 IP) and one save over a combined 27 relief appearances…began the season with Bradenton of the Florida State League and gave up one earned run in 5.1 innings pitched in four games…went 2-0 in 12 games for the Altoona Curve and picked up a save…finished the season with the Indianapolis Indians, his third stop of the year.

2011

Began season with the Bridgeport Bluefish of the independent Atlantic League and went 0-0 with a 1.59 ERA (11.1ip/7h/4r/2er/4bb/16so) in nine relief appearances...Signed a minor league contract with the Yankees on 6/29 and was assigned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre...Posted a 1.98 ERA (13.2ip/3er) in his first 10 games thru 7/25...Won lone game in second outing on 7/2 at Pawtucket...Picked up a save in three straight appearances from 7/4-9...Retired the three batters he faced and earned final save on 8/1 vs. Lehigh Valley...Struck out season-high four batters while pitching 1.1 innings on 8/13 at Syracuse, but also gave up a pair of home runs and suffered lone loss with Scranton.

Pitched in 26 games with Washington after tenure with FLA ended after 6 April appearances...desingated for assignment by the Marlins, April 26...was acquired by the Nationals in exchange for minor league RHP Kyle Gunderson on April 28...enjoyed 3 stints with Washington.

In Minor Leagues: Went 2-1 with 17 saves and a 2.97 ERA in 31 appearances with Syracuse of the Triple-A International League...despite pitching in only 31 games, led the Washington chain in saves and games finished (27)... successfully converted 17 of 18 save opportunities (94%)...posted a 5.8/1 strikeout-to-walk ratio (35 K/6 BB) in the IL and a .224 batting average against in the IL.

Earned first win of season (second of career) September 15 at Colorado with 2.0 scoreless innings of relief ... picked up wins in each of final two outings, September 26 vs. Chicago-NL and September 30 at New York-NL ... Recalled from Albuquerque on September 1 ... began season on 15-day DL, and was transferred to 60-day DL on April 25 ... reinstated from DL and returned from rehab August 8, then was optioned to Albuquerque ...
