Eric William Stults…he and his wife, Stephanie, have three children: Madeline, Luke and Hallie…attended Bethel College (IN)…won the 2002 National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association Division I Championship…went 10-1 that season…also played basketball at Bethel…originally signed by Dodgers' scout Marty Lamb.

2014

Went 8-17 with a 4.30 ERA (84 ER/176.0 IP) over  32 starts in his 12th professional season, his second consecutive year making at least 30 starts and tossing more than 175.0 innings. Ended the year ranked second on the Padres staff in starts, third in innings and third in strikeouts. Wasone of just three pitchers on the staff to fan at least 100 batters. Pitched to a 3.21 ERA (36 ER/101.0 IP) over his final 17 starts of the season, compiling a 6-8 record with 70 strikeouts. Went 2-9 with a 5.76 ERA (48 ER/75.0 IP) in his first 15 starts of the season, surrendering 102 hits and fanning 41. Compiled a 2.52 ERA (10 ER/35.2 IP) in six August starts, going 3-2 with 22 strikeouts. For his career, he's gone 8-6 with a 3.28 ERA in 21 games (19 starts) over five Augusts, the only month in his career in whichhe's totaled an ERA under 3.50. Walked two batters or fewer in 25-of-32 starts on the season, and issued two or fewer walks in 33-of-40starts since 8/18/13. Went 18 consecutive starts without walking more than two batters from 8/18/13 to 5/22/14 before issuing four free passes on 5/27 at ARI. It was the longest such streak by a Padres pitchersince Clayton Richard did so in 19 games from 6/27/12-4/3/13. Allowed a season-low two hits on 8/1 vs. ATL, going 6.1 innings, yielding one unearned run and fanningfour. It was just the fourth time in his Major League career allowing two or fewer hits in a start. Tied for second in the majors with a career-high 17 losses. Rode a career-long eight-game losing streakfrom 5/16 to 6/28, going 0-8 with a 5.63 ERA (30 ER/48.0 IP). Received 12 runs of support over the eightgames, including six games with one run or fewer of support. Received just 2.91 runs of support per start (57 runs, 32 starts), the second-lowest amount among qualifiedpitchers in the league (MIA's Nate Eovaldi, 2.70). San Diego scored just 57 runs in his 32 starts on theseason, the fewest for any pitcher with at least 175.0 innings pitched.

2013

2012

Posted career-bests in nearly every category after being claimed off waivers by the Padres in May...recorded a career-high eight wins and had a career-best 2.91 ERA (32 ER/99.0 IP) overall on the season. Claimed by the Padres off outright waivers from the Chicago White Sox on 5/17. Had made five starts for Triple-A Charlotte in the White Sox system to start the year, going 1-1 with a 2.20 ERA(7 ER/28.2 IP) and 26 strikeouts against 10 walks before playing in two games, one start, for the White Sox in May... was designated for assignment by the White Sox on 5/15. Made his Padres debut with a start on 5/19 vs. LAA, working 6.2 innings of two-run ball. Made four starts from 5/19-6/3 going 1-2 with a 3.33 ERA (9 ER/24.1 IP) before landing on the 15-day DL on 6/7 with a strained left lat. Made two rehab starts for Triple-A Tucson from 7/12-18 before being reinstated from the 15-day DL on 7/22. After being reinstated from the DL made four relief appearances from 7/23-8/2, posting a 2.70 ERA(2 ER/6.2 IP). Finished the season by making 10 starts from 8/6-9/29, going 7-1 with a 2.79 ERA(19 ER/61.1 IP), a .246 (57-for- 232) opponents batting average and 39 strikeouts against just 14 walks over that stretch...Padres were 8-2 over his final 10 starts over that span. Overall as a starter in 2012 went 8-3 with a 2.95 ERA(30 ER/91.2 IP), a .244 (83-for-340) opponents average and 52 strikeouts against 25 walks allowed, including one start with the White Sox. With the Padres, posted a 2.49 ERA(14 ER/50.2 IP) over 11 games, seven starts, on the road against a 3.46 ERA (16 ER/41.2 IP) in seven starts at Petco Park...Padres went 5-2 in his seven starts at home and 5-2 in his seven starts on the road. Over seven games, five starts, in the month of August, went 4-0 with a 2.02 ERA (8ER/35.2 IP), with the Padres 4-1 in those five starts...his 2.02 ERA in August was tied for fifth-best among qualifying NL pitchers during the month. At the plate for the Padres in 2012, hit .250 (7-for-28) with two doubles, three RBI and three runs scored...compiled a four-game hit streak from 8/13-29, going 5-for-9 (.556) overthat stretch...all three of his RBI came on 8/24 atARI with a two-run single and a RBI-double in that game.

2011

Spent most of the season with Class AAA Colorado Springs, but made six relief appearances with Colorado after being recalled on 7/3...posted a 6.00 ERA (8 ER/12.0 IP) and seven strikeouts with the Rockies...was outrighted back to the Sky Sox where he finished the season...went 4-4 with a 4.63 ERA (76 ER/68.0 IP), 69 strikeouts and one save over 52 relief appearances with Colorado Springs.

2010

Spent the entire season, and also his first season, in Japan playing for the Hiroshima Carp...finished the season 6-10, 5.07 (124.1 ip, 70 er) in 21 starts...struckout 87 compared to walking 46...Of the 149 hits he allowed (.302 average) only 44 went for extra-bases, 23 of them as home runs...The Carp went 7-14 in his 21 starts...showed more success on the road (3-4, 3.74) compared to at home (3-6, 6.34)...lefties hit .317 (57-for-180) off him while righties hit .293 (92-for-314)...Finished second on his club with 21 starts and 124.1 innings pitched...had the third-most strikeouts and tied for the third-most wins among all Carp...his 10 losses also led Hiroshima...Recorded the same amount of ground-ball outs as fly-ball outs, 198 for each category.

2009

Began season at Albuquerque, but did not make an appearance before being recalled by Los Angeles on April 11...Went 4-3 with a 4.86 ERA in 10 starts over two separate stints with the Dodgers...Los Angeles was 7-3 in his starts...Tossed his second career complete-game shutout on four hits in the Dodgers' 8-0 victory on May 9 vs. San Francisco...it was Los Angeles' only complete game of the season...represented his lone "quality start" of the season...Went 3-1 with a 2.55 ERA (7 ER/24.2 IP) and limited opposing hitters to a .211 average (19-for-90) in four starts at Dodger Stadium...Went 4-1 in seven starts against National League West opponents...Placed on 15-day disabled list with a sore thumb on May 31, and was reinstated and optioned to Albuquerque on July 1...Made two rehab starts at Single-A Inland Empire on June 25 and 29, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits in a combined 7.1 innings...Went 5-4 with a 5.20 ERA in 12 games (11 starts) for Triple-A Albuquerque...Appeared in six Spring Training games (one start) before being optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque on April 5, allowing 16 runs (13 earned) in 12.1 innings (9.49 ERA)

2008

In three stints with the Dodgers, went 2-3 with a shutout and a 3.49 ERA in seven starts...spent the majority of the year with Triple-A Las Vegas, where he went 7-7 with a 3.82 ERA in 20 starts...Tossed a four-hit shutout against the Chicago White Sox on June 25 at Dodger Stadium...Started the Sept. 25 game vs. San Francisco in place of Greg Maddux after the Dodgers had clinched the National League West title earlier in the day with Arizona's 12-3 loss at St. Louis...Went 2-2 with a 3.18 ERA (12 ER/34.0 IP) in six starts during his first stint...was recalled on June 17, when Brad Penny was placed on the 15-day disabled list...After winning his first two starts, June 19 at Cincinnati and June 25 vs. Chicago White Sox, was winless in his next four starts from June 30-July 21, going 0-2 with a 5.21 ERA (11 ER/19.0 IP)...Was optioned back to Las Vegas on July 22, when Clayton Kershaw was recalled from Double-A Jacksonville...Returned to the Dodgers on Aug. 14 to pitch out of the bullpen...did not appear in a game before being optioned back to Vegas on Aug. 19...was recalled on Sept. 1, when rosters expanded from 25 to 40...Went 1-2 with a 2.75 ERA (6 ER/19.2 IP) in three starts at Dodger Stadium, and 1-1 with a 4.26 ERA (9 ER/19.0 IP) in four starts on the road...Opposing left-handed hitters batted .314 (11-for-35) against him, while right-handed hitters batted .233 (27-for-116)...His June 25 shutout of the White Sox came in just his ninth career start...the last Dodger to fire a shutout with fewer Major League starts under his belt was Darren Dreifort, who blanked Arizona in his seventh career start on May 22, 1998...Posted a team-best 3.82 ERA among the club's full-time starters...also led the team with 102 strikeouts...ranked third on the squad with seven wins and second with 117.2 innings pitched...worked at least 6.0 innings in 14 of his 20 starts...Was 5-6 with a 3.59 ERA (33 ER/82.2 IP) in 14 starts at the time of his first promotion on June 17

2007

Had three different stints with the Dodgers, splitting time between the big league club and Triple-A Las Vegas...went 5-7 with a 7.56 ERA (75 ER/89.1 IP) in 21 games (17 starts) for the 51s...struck out 81 batters...while with Las Vegas, went 4-1 with a 3.89 ERA away from Cashman Field...was first recalled on July 4 and then sent down on July 23...came back up on Aug. 17, and then went down on Aug. 31...brought up for the final time on Sept. 4...went 1-4 with a 5.82 ERA in 12 games (five starts) for the Dodgers...as a starter with Los Angeles, went 1-3 with a 5.68 ERA...had the best outing of his career on Aug. 17 against the Rockies, going a career-high 7.0 innings and fanning a career-high nine batters while allowing just two runs and two hits in the Dodgers' 6-4 victory...at the plate, went 4-for-12 (.333) with two doubles.

2006

Appeared in six games (two starts) for the Dodgers, going 1-0 with a 5.60 ERA (11 ER /17.2 IP) while walking seven batters and striking out five... Was invited to Spring Training as a non-roster player and had a 2.00 ERA in three games before being sent back to Minor League camp... Was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas on Sept. 4 after posting a 10-11 record in 26 games started for the 51s...had a 4.26 ERA (72 ER/153.1 IP) and 128 strikeouts...allowed 153 hits and 68 walks... Made his Major League debut out of the bullpen on Sept. 5 at Milwaukee...gave up three runs in 3.0 innings...allowed a homer and one walk while striking out one... Earned his first Major League start and victory on Sept. 10 at Shea Stadium...held the Mets to just one run and two hits over 6.0 innings and 86 pitches...walked two and struck out three in the Dodgers' 9-1 win... Made his first big league start two days after Hong-Chih Kuo did the same for the Dodgers, marking the first time in 46 that the Dodgers had two pitchers accomplish that feat in the same series... In just five at-bats, had three hits, scored a run and laid down a sacrifice bunt...singled to lead off the sixth inning on Sept. 10 and came around to score on Nomar Garciaparra's home run... Started the regular season finale on Oct. 1 at San Francisco and pitched 5.0 innings, allowing two earned runs but did not factor in the decision.

2005

Compiled a 4-3 record and a 3.31 ERA in 12 starts at Double-A Jacksonville before being promoted to Triple-A Las Vegas ... Racked up 118 strikeouts in 146.0 innings at Jacksonville and Las Vegas Had a 3.15 ERA at home with Jacksonville.

2004

In a combined 19 relief outings for Single-A Columbus and Single-A Vero Beach, was 3-3 with four saves and a 2.56 ERA (9 ER/31.2 IP).

2003

Went 3-4 with one save and a 4.97 ERA in nine games (seven starts) for Jacksonville... Was transferred to Vero Beach on May 19 and made one start, giving up two runs in 3.0 innings... Was placed on the disabled list by Vero Beach May 26 and not activated until September 8 by Columbus

2002

With three different affiliates (Rookie League-Great Falls, Vero Beach and Jacksonville) he combined to go 4-1 with a 2.82 ERA in 19 games (six starts)
