2013

Named the Astros Pitcher of the Year by the Houston Chapter of the BBWAA. Recorded a career-high 10 saves after assuming the club's closer role in July. Won a career-high six games, which led all Astros relievers...his rate of 2.34 groundballs/flyball (103GB/44FB) was a career high...posted the lowest walks per 9.0 innings ratio among all NL relievers with his mark of 1.09 (8BB/66.1IP)...is also the second lowest walks per 9.0 innings ratio in franchise history, trailing his own 0.67 (5BB/67IP) mark, set in 2010. Ranked second in strikeouts to walks ratio among NL relievers with a 6.75 mark (54SO/8BB). Missed 26 games on a DL stint from June 11-July 9 with a sprained right elbow...aside from that stint, spent the rest of the season in the Astros bullpen. Began his season by facing 78 batters without allowing a walk (22.1IP), which was the longest such streak to start a season since John Smoltz faced 92 batters before his first walk in 2004. Had a 10-game scoreless streak from April 30-May 17 (10.2IP). Posted a 1.53 ERA (5ER/29.1IP) in his last 28 appearances with three wins, 10 saves, four walks and 25 strikeouts. Made a career-high and club-high 73 appearances...had a 2.34 ERA (9ER/34.2IP) on the road and a 1.99 ERA (7ER/31.2IP) in 28 day game apps...missed 15 games on a DL stint from April 14-May 2 with right elbow ulnar nerve irritation...aside from that stint, spent the rest of the season in the Astros bullpen...had a 1.98 ERA (3ER/13.2IP) over his last 17 apps. to finish the season (after Aug. 24)...posted a 2.44 ERA (18ER/66.1P) in 67 apps. after returning from his DL stint on May 2...did not allow a home run through his first 30 games (29IP) of the season from April 1-June 18.

2010

Spent most of the season with the Astros, posting a 5-2 record with one save and a 2.96 ERA (22ER/67IP) in 68 relief appearances...accumulated one full year of Major League service time, despite being optioned twice to Triple A...made three relief appearances with Round Rock, going 2-1 with a 5.40 ERA (3ER/5IP)...despite a solid Spring Training (0ER/7IP), optioned to Triple A to start the season...recalled on April 8 and stayed with Houston until being optioned again on April 24...recalled on May 4 and spent the remainder of the season with Houston...was never DL'd but did not appear in a game from Sept. 11-23... among MLB rookie relievers, ranked third in appearances (68) and innings pitched (67.0), tied for fourth in wins (5) and sixth in ERA (2.96)... his 68 appearances, ranked as the sixth-most by a rookie in franchise history (last, Wesley Wright's 71 apps. in 2008)... stranded 32 of 33 inherited runners (3.0 IRS), the best ratio in the Majors... is the lowest ratio for a single campaign in the Majors since 1974... tossed 29.1 consecutive innings, over 29 appearances, without issuing a walk from July 26 through the remainder of the season... marked the longest run by an Astros pitcher since Roy Oswalt tossed 32.0 consecutive walkless innings from June 17-July 17, 2004... issued only five walks on the season, while fanning 50, in his 67.0 innings...his 10-to-one strikeout-to-walk ratio ranked third in the Majors among relief pitchers...was the only player in the Majors during 2010 to walk five-or-fewer hitters while pitching 50+ innings... a pitcher has only done that four times since 1959, also Dennis Eckersley (1989-90) and Matt Capps (2008)... posted a career-high, five-game winning streak from April 21-Aug. 22...tied RHP Brandon Lyon for the longest relief winning streak on the club in 2010...the two were the first Astros relievers with five-plus game winning streaks since Octavio Dotel also won five straight decisions from April 11-June 6, 2003...picked up his first career save on Aug. 17 vs. NYM (0ER/1IP)...RHP Mark Melancon picked up his first career win that day, making them the first pair of teammates to pick up their first career win and save in the same game since Aug. 2, 2007 (W-McLemore, SV-Moehler)...posted a 1.42 ERA (5ER/31.2IP) over his final 32 appearances from July 19 through the end of the season...among relievers, ERA ranked tied for sixth in the NL in that time span...the run included a career-long scoreless streak of 19.2 innings over 18 appearances from July 19-Aug. 22...was the longest by an Astro in 2010.

2009

Made two starts and appeared in eight games for Houston, posting an 0-2 record with a 8.38 ERA (18ER/19.1IP)...as a starter, went 0-2 with a 8.31 ERA (8ER/8.2IP)...started the last game of the season for Houston at NYM and allowed four runs, three earned, in a careerhigh 5.0 innings...made his first career Major League start on Sept. 29 at PHI and allowed five runs in 3.2 innings for his first MLB loss...became the first Nicaraguan-born player to play for Houston...was recalled from Double A Corpus Christi on Aug. 28 and made Major League debut that night at ARI by tossing 92 pitches in 4.0 innings of relief...made 29 appearances, including 15 starts, with the Hooks before being recalled and went 4-5 with a 4.73 ERA (58ER/110.1IP)...in his 15 starts, posted a 3-5 record with a 3.91 ERA (39ER/89.2IP)...was named Corpus Christi's Pitcher of the Month for August after going 2-2 with a 1.23 ERA (5ER/36.2IP) in five starts during the month...pitched for the Peoria Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League following the 2009 season...went 3-1 with a 3.72 ERA (8ER/19.1IP) in six games, five starts.

2008

Pitched for Single A Lake Elsinore, Double A San Antonio and Triple A Portland, combining to make 58 relief appearances...finished 29 games with Lake Elsinore, picking up all 12 of his saves with the Storm

2007

Pitched for Single A Fort Wayne and Lake Elsinore, making 22 relief appearances with each club...walked just three batters in 50.2 innings of work, compiling 36 strikeouts...appeared in six games with Lake Elsinore during California League playoffs...posted a 1.93 ERA (2ER/9.1IP) while holding opponents to a .194 batting average

2004

Split his first professional season between the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Yankees and Single A clubs in Tampa, Battle Creek and Staten Island...posted a 3.65 ERA (5ER/12.1IP) in nine relief appearances over the four stops...struck out 12 compared to three walks....on the disabled list from July 26-Aug.16 with right shoulder tendinitis.
