 Signed minor league contract with Atlanta in the offseason and spent most of season with Triple-A Gwinnett, going 12-3, 2.83 ERA (120.2 IP, 35 ER) with 19 walks and 115 strikeouts in 26 games (17 starts)...was outrighted by Atlanta August 11 and had contract purchased by Seattle four days later..went 5-1, 3.51 ERA (41.0 IP, 16 ER) with 10 walks and 37 strikeouts in nine games (6 starts) for the Mariners to finish the season... set a career-long three-game winning streak September 3-14...unconditionally released by Mariners December 20.

2016

Began season with Lancaster in the Independent Atlantic League...made one start, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out nine in 7.0 innings...signed by the Twins to a minor league contract April 27 and reported to Triple-A Rochester...made his return to Minnesota, appearing in six games (2 starts) in August and September.

Signed as a free agent with Toronto...began season with Triple-A Buffalo...recalled for one start May 1 with the Blue Jays, going 2.2 innings allowing one run on a solo home run with two walks and one strikeout...optioned following the game and finished the season with Buffalo...in 20 appearances (15 starts) with the Bisons went 2-11, 5.70 ERA (83.2 IP, 53 ER) with 26 walks and 53 strikeouts...granted free agency following the season...played for Margarita in the Venezuelan Winter League following the season.

Started the season with Single-A Ft. Myers...pitched 2.2 innings April 13 vs. St. Lucie, his first appearance since having “Tommy John” surgery...pitched in 22 games, posting a 1.55 ERA (52.1 IP, 9 ER) with Ft. Myers before being transferred to New Britain...pitched in 13 games with New Britain, posting a 2.91 ERA over 43.1 innings pitched.

Pitched for Quebec in the CanAm League (Independent), going 3-0, 1.40 (57.2 IP, 9 ER) with 16 walks and 59 strikeouts in 40 games.

Placed on the disabled list August 2 with a ulnar collateral ligament injury in his left elbow...had “Tommy John” surgery on June 17.

 Played his first professional season with AZL Padres, pitching in five games, making two starts, throwing 7.0 innings with no earned runs allowed
