Blake Edward Hawksworth....married to Courtney and they have a daughter, Madison...in 2012, will doante $100 per strikeout and $100 per Dodger victory to the "Not for Sale" organization, which fights human trafficking...had a college commitment to Cal State Fullerton but opted to attend Bellevue (Wash.) Community College after graduating from Eastlake High School in Sammamish, Wash....was a high school teammate of LHP Andy Sisco, formerly of the Chicago White Sox...in the 2010 offseason was an assistant basketball coach at Eastlake...drafted in the 28th round by the Caridnals in 2001 and signed with the club in 2002 as a "draft and follow."

Ranked fourth on the team with 49 appearances and 53.0 innings pitched as a reliever, going 2-5 with a 4.08 ERA in his first season with Los Angeles...Limited opposing hitters to a .225 batting average, including a .193 mark against lefthanders...Made 11 appearances of 2.0 or more innings and posted a 2.42 ERA (6 ER/22.1 IP) with a .118 opponents' batting average in those outings...Earned his first victory as a Dodger on April 9 at San Diego after tossing 2.0 scoreless innings in the continuation of the suspended game from April 8...Excelled in his five appearances against the defending World Champion Giants, posting a 1.50 ERA (1 ER/6.0 IP) and limiting San Francisco hitters to a .238 batting average (5-for-21) with six strikeouts...Went 2-2 with a 3.00 ERA in the first half over 28 games...Was at his best during the month of June when he was 0-1 with a 1.69 ERA in 12 appearances...Missed 23 games on the disabled list from May 11-June 6 with a strained right groin...Had arthroscopic surgery on Jan. 11, 2012 on his right elbow to clean up scar tissue and a right elbow spur...the surgery was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache.

Earned his first win as a big league starter on June 26 at Kansas City, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits over 5.0 innings ... Was 3-4 with a 5.83 ERA as a starter and 1-4 with a 4.25 ERA as a reliever ... Posted a 2-1 record with a 2.00 ERA in 9.0 IP in Interleague games ... Did not allow an earned run in April, scattering 11 hits over 9.0 IP (seven appearances) ... Held opposing batters to a .125 BA (1- for-8) in bases-loaded situations ... Of his 37 relief appearances, 11 were 2.0 innings or more ... Ranked sixth in the NL in least pitches per batter (3.61) among relief pitchers.

Former 2001 draft selection emerged as solid middle innings man out of the pen, going 4-0 with 2.03 ERA in rookie campaign...Allowed earned runs in just five of 30 games, with four of his nine earned runs allowed coming in his ML debut on 6/6 vs. COL...Earned his first ML win on 7/29 vs. LAD working 3.0 scoreless innings in Cards' 3-2 win in 15 innings...Earned the win in three of his four appearances from Sept. 5-14...Was 4-0 with 1.61 ERA in 22 appearances after All-Star break...Did not allow a run in 13 games (17.0 IP) vs. N.L. Central clubs, going 2-0 with 0.00 ERA...Finished the season with 11 consecutive scoreless appearances (3-0, 11.2 IP)..Did not allow an inherited runner to score out of seven total after 6/24...Was a used as a starter for Memphis (AAA), going 5-4 with a 3.58 ERA in 12 starts...Listed at the 8th best prospect in the Cardinals organization by Baseball America.
2008
Spent the season at Triple-A Memphis where he made 16 starts and pitched in 18 games. ... Missed most of July on the DL with a strained right knee. Made two rehab apperances with the team's Gulf Coast entry. ... After coming off the DL, went 3-0 in his final four starts on the season with a 2.82 ERA (7 ER/22.1 IP). ... In his final start of the season vs. OKL, pitched 6.1 shutout innings for the win.
2007
Made a career-high 25 starts in his first full season at Triple-A Memphis, tied for second most on the team...pitched 5.0 innings or more in all but two of his starts...in his six starts in May was 3-2 with just a 1.70 ERA, his best month of the season... his 129.2 IP ranked 4th most on the Memphis club...gave up just 10 runs over his final four outings...was placed on the disabled list on 8/23 with a strained toe and ended his season on the DL.

Bounced back from injuries to post a solid season that led to Cardinals Minor League Pitcher of the Year honors...Combined to go 11-4 with a 2.92 ERA over 27 starts between Palm Beach (A) and Springfield (AA)...Ranked second among Cardinals minor leaguers with a 2.92 ERA, third with 11 wins and fifth with 121 strikeouts...Combined to pitch 163.1 innings, 24.1 innings shy of his four-year career total entering 2006...Posted quality starts in 19 of his final 25 outings...Was the starting pitcher for the East All-Stars at the Florida State League All-Star Game in Lakeland, FL on 6/17. He allowed an unearned run on one hit in an inning of work...Tossed 7.0 innings and allowed two run on seven hits while fanning 10 in the win in his final start at Palm Beach on 6/21 vs. Daytona...Won three of four June starts at Palm Beach (3-0, 2.77 ERA) before being promoted to Springfield on 6/23...Six of his 13 starts at Springfield resulted in no decisions...Combined to allow 15 runs in 40.0 innings in the no decisions (3.38 ERA)...Springfield was 6-7 in his 13 overall starts...Limited right-handed batters to a .231 batting average (37-for-160) at the Double-A level...Opponents batted .229 off him with runners in scoring position...Pitched 6.0 shutout innings and matched a season-high with 10 strikeouts in a no decision on 8/12 vs. Frisco (4-0 W).

Sent to Single-A New Jersey on July 1 to continue injury rehabilitation...appeared in seven games (six starts) before shutting down due to continued discomfort in right shoulder.
2004
Limited to two starts at Single-A Palm Beach in 2004 due to a right shoulder injury...underwent surgery in July by Dr. Lewis Yocum to repair the labrum and clean out loose cartilage.
2003
Combined to post a 2.91 ERA in 16 starts with Single-A Peoria and Single-A Palm Beach...his ERA was the seventh best among Cardinals minor league starters...Held opponents to a .205 batting average, the sixth-best in the St. Louis minor league system...Struck out 92 batters, while walking just 33 in 86.2 combined innings.
