Kyle Jordan Drabek (@kyledrabek4) ... Is the son of former Major League Cy Young Award winner Doug Drabek. Graduate of Woodlands High School… While there he was an AFLAC, USA Today, and Louisville Slugger high-school All-American at pitcher and shortstop... Was paired up on a Houston summer team with current Cincinnati Reds outfielder Jay Bruce ... While in high school was named 2005 and 2006 Texas 5-A player of the year... During the 2006 spring season, the Highlanders won the Texas 5-A State Championship... During his high school career, compiled a record of 30-1 on the mound while belting 27 home runs... In the 2006 Texas regional semifinal, he set the Woodlands High School record for most strikeouts in a game by a pitcher (19), recording a no-hitter... Was 10-0 in his senior year (10 starts) while posting an ERA of 1.18 in 65.0 IP, allowed 34 hits, walked 23 and struck out 112.

2014

Spent the majority of the season with Buffalo of the International League… Posted a 7-7 record in 32 games with a 4.18 ERA for the Bisons. Started 13 contests in Buffalo, going 4-6 with a 4.46 ERA… Club was 7-6 in his starts and he allowed three earned runs or less in 10 of 13... After moving to the bullpen posted a 3.29 ERA in 19 appearances as a reliever. Allowed 35 earned runs over 50.2 innings while pitching at home (6.22 ERA), while holding opponents to a 2.05 ERA (11ER/48.1IP). Was recalled from the minors August 16… Appeared in two games out of the bullpen for Toronto… Did not surrender a run while allowing two hits over three innings of work in those two outings. Named Bisons Judge Dillon Comeback Player of the Year.

2013

Missed Toronto's first 85 games of the season while recovering from right elbow surgery…Was removed from 60-day DL on July 5 and optioned to Dunedin Blue Jays … Was later assigned to Buffalo (AAA) of the International League on August 14. Appeared in three games out of the bullpen for Toronto after being recalled September 3 from the Buffalo Bisons. Made his 1st appearance since June 13, 2012 pitching in relief at MIN September 7. Appeared in four games (three starts) with the Bisons, posting a record of 1-2 with a 3.77 ERA. In 14 games (11 starts) between Dunedin (8G), New Hampshire (2G) & Buffalo (4G), had an ERA of 3.14 (15ER/43.0) while walking just six & fanning 35 as part of his rehab assignment while recovering from Tommy John surgery performed June 19, 2012 (2nd of his career).

2012

Made just 13 starts after having his season end prematurely on June 13 vs. WAS with an elbow injury...Had a second Tommy John surgery on June 19...Team was 5-8 in his starts...Allowed two or less runs in eight of his 13 starts...Saw his opponent's average drop from .321 in 2011 to .250...His GB/FB ratio inproved from 1.35 to 1.88 and his 12 GDP's was 8th in the AL at the time of his injury and still ranked 3rd on the club in 2012...Walked four or more in eight of his 15 starts including a career high six on April 20 at KC and May 21 at TB...Ended the season with a 5.93 walks per nine total which was 2nd highest in the AL (min 70.0 IP)...Picked up the win on May 21 at TB becoming the 1st AL starter to walk at least six batters, throw at least three wild pitches & still earn the win since Juan Guzman (TOR) on July 15, 1994 vs. TEX (6-IP, 6-BB, 3-WP)...Pitched well at Rogers Centre, posting a 3-3 record with a 2.70 ERA while holding opponents to a .215 average...On the road was 1-4 with a 6.75 ERA and a .286 opponent's average...Recorded a career high 7.1 innings on April 15 vs. BAL, just the 4th time he has tossed at least 7.0 innings in his career... Allowed a career high nine runs on May 27 at TEX.

2011

Appeared in 18 games with the Blue Jays making 14 starts in two stints with the Blue Jays... BREAKING CAMP: Began the season on the Blue Jays 25-man roster and made 14 starts going 4-5 with a 5.70 ERA over that stretch... 1st ML WIN: Picked up his first Major League win in his first start on Apr. 2 vs. MIN as he allowed just one run and one hit over seven innings, walked three, struck out seven and pitched 5.1 hitless innings to start the game... SHORT START: Pitched just 0.2 innings June 1 vs. CLE which was the shortest start of his career and the shortest start by a Blue Jay since May 30, 2007 at NYY when Jesse Litsch also went 0.2 innings... GIVING SOME RELIEF: After his recall on Sept. 7 spent the remainder of the season in the bullpen... Made his 1st career relief appearance on Sept. 9, pitched a scoreless inning of relief... Made four relief appearances and posted a 10.50 ERA (6.0IP/7ER) allowing opponents to hit .360 over that stretch... IN THE MINORS: In 15 starts with the 51s, posted a 5-4 record including one complete game with an ERA of 7.44, allowing 111 hits in 75 innings.

2010

Spent the majority of the season with New Hampshire (AA) of the Eastern League before being promoted to Toronto on Sept. 15... Made his ML debut on Sept. 15 at BAL, recorded a qualiy start, tossing six innings, allowing three runs in a 4-1 loss... Made his first start vs. the Orioles just as his father did on June 15, 1986... Fanned Ty Wigginton in the first inning for his first Major League strikeout... Was named Eastern League Pitcher of the Year in 2010 after recording a 14-9 record with a 2.94 ERA in 27 starts for New Hampshire (AA)... Led the Eastern League with his 14 victories, while finishing 3rd in ERA (2.94), IP (162) and strikeouts (132)... July 4 pitched a no-hitter in a game vs. New Britain walking two and striking out three, becoming the first Fisher Cat to throw a nine inning no-hitter in club history... The performance earned him Eastern League Pitcher of the Week honours... Was named to the Eastern League Mid and Post Season All-Star squads... Took the ball in game #1 of the Eastern League East Division Finals, going six innings, however took the loss 2-0 in their first playoff game in six seasons... Rated as the #3 prospect by Baseball America in the Eastern League.

2009

Began the season with Clearwater (A) in the Florida Statre League... Made 10 starts allwoing more than three runs in only two starts... Held FSL hitters to a .218 average, while striking out 74 in 61.2 innings... BIG FINISH/STRONG START: In his last start at Clearwater pitched a comlete game five-hit shutout on May 29... Was promoted to Reading (AA) in the Eastern League in time for his next start on June 3... In his appearnce for Reading continued his streak of scoreless innings with seven shutout to pick up his first win at AA... Won his first five decisions at AA, and did not pick up a loss until his 8th start... HIGHLY THOUGHT OF: Received the Paul Owens Award recognizing him as the top pitcher in the Phillies system... Is ranked by Baseball America as the Blue Jays #1 prospect.

2008

Began season on disabled list recovering from "Tommy John" surgery... Made four starts for Gulf Coast League Phillies (R) before being reinstated on Aug. 20... Finished season with Williamsport (A)... Allowed fewer than 3 ER in each of his 8 starts and held opponents to a .156 avg (17-109) between both clubs... Participated in Florida Instructional League.

2007

Pitched at least 5.0 innings in 9 of his 10 starts; lone exception was his final start, which he left with an injury... Had 15 SO in his first 12.0 IP (11.25 SO/9.0 IP)... Pitched a season-best 7.2 innings, 5/10 vs Greensboro... Went 3-0, 3.16 ERA in 6 home starts... Made his final appearance, 6/15 vs Delmarva (0.0 IP, 2 H, 3 R, ER)... Had season-ending ligament replacement surgery ("Tommy John") on his right elbow, 7/25 (Dr. David Altchek).

2006

Was assigned to the Gulf Coast League (R) Phillies after being selected in the 1st round of the June draft (18th overall)...Made his 1st pro start, 7/15 vs Tigers (L, 1.0 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 1 SO)...Pitched 5.0 shutout innings in 2 of his 6 appearances...Played 3 games as DH and went 1-for-9 (.111) with 2 BB...Selected as a 2006 First Team All-American by Baseball America in June.
