Made his 1st career Opening Day roster...Appeared in four games (one start) over four ML stints with the Red Sox...Made his BOS debut and 1st ML start on 7/28 vs. NYM (2.2 IP, 3 R)… Each of his final three appearances came in relief...Threw at least 1.2 innings in each of his outings. Designated for assignment on 11/20 and outrighted to the Triple-A roster on 11/25.

2019

Split the season between DET (16 G) and Triple-A Toledo (25 G/13 GS)...8 of his outings with the Tigers were more than 1.0 IP. Allowed 0 hits and 0 runs over at least 1.0 IP in 5 of his appearances with DET. Closed his season with 2.0 scoreless innings on 9/19 at CLE (1 H) and 1.0 scoreless inning on 9/25 vs. MIN (0 H). In 7 games (2 GS) with Toledo in June, posted a 1.80 ERA (4 ER/20.0 IP). In his 2 starts with Toledo on 7/19 vs. Syracuse and 7/24 at Lehigh Valley, threw a combined 10.0 scoreless innings with 13 SO and 0 BB.

Named the Tigers Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 2018 after combining to pitch in 37 games, including 14 starts, between Double A Erie and Triple A Toledo...also saw the first Major League action of his career pitching in five games...Selected a Tigers Organizational All-Star by MiLB.com...Led Detroit's player development system with a 2.13 ERA (minimum 0.8 innings pitched per team game), and ranked second in strikeouts with 135...Named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending July 8 after going 2-0 and making two scoreless starts, striking out 18 over 12.1 innings pitched and walking just two batters...Over his final 10 outings, including four starts, with Double A Erie, he went 4-0 with a 0.28 ERA (32.2IP/1ER) and 42 strikeouts...Had a season-high 10 strikeouts with Erie on July 7 at Binghamton…also struck out 10 batters on July 20 with Toledo vs. Lehigh Valley...Made his Major League debut on September 15 at Cleveland, pitching 1.0 inning…recorded the first strikeout of his Major League career on September 19 vs. Minnesota, punching out Tyler Austin...Rated as possessing the best curveball in the Tigers system by Baseball America following the season.
