Muckenhirn attended the University of North Dakota on the school's final baseball team as their program ended the following year....Was the highest draft pick in UND Baseball history, breaking a half-century-old mark.... Attended Delano High School in Minnesota. Was a mathlete in high school...Double majored in mathematics and computer science in college....Threw a three-hit shutout for the University of North Dakota against USC, the No. 12 team in the nation, in the final Opening Day game in the history of the school's baseball program in 2016...Led the Fighting Hawks to a 1-0 win and was named National College Baseball Writers Association Division I Pitcher of the Week as a result...Struck out nine and set down the final 15 batters he faced.

2020

Participated in the team's Fall Instructional League camp at the Ed Smith Stadium complex in Sarasota, Fla... Did not play during the regular season, because of the cancellation of the Minor League season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pitched the majority of the season at Double-A Bowie (37 appearances), while also making his Triple-A debut and pitching in four games for Norfolk...Struck out 65 batters in 53.1 innings while at Bowie.

Played in a career-high 47 games for Charlotte (AAA) with a 3.11 ERA and two saves.
