Missed his junior season while recovering from Tommy John surgery...Made four starts during a shortened 2020 collegiate season, striking out 37 batters in 19 innings...His 167 strikeouts were second-most in MiLB...Also led Single-A pitchers in innings (113.2) and tied for third-most in wins (eight)...Missed almost the entire year after undergoing surgery to correct thoracic outlet syndrome...Made seven starts for Eugene before being shut down again with a right elbow injury.

Started the year at Double-A Richmond and went 3-3 with a 3.49 ERA (28 ER, 67 IP) and 90 strikeouts in 14 starts with the Flying Squirrels before earning a promotion to Triple-A on June 29...Struck out 33.5% of batters he faced in Richmond (12.09 SO/9 IP)...Was one of two pitchers in Double-A to reach 90 strikeouts through their first 14 starts...In four starts with the Squirrels in June leading up to his promotion, he was 2-1 with a 1.59 ERA (4 ER, 22.2 IP) and 31 strikeouts...Logged a 4.18 ERA over 27 outings (26 starts) between Double-A Richmond and Triple-A Sacramento...Added to the 40-man roster on Nov. 19 ahead of the Rule 5 draft.
