Is a 1990 graduate of Jordan High School in Long Beach, CA...as a senior there was named an All-California High School All-Star.

In his first season in the Reds organization produced 32 stolen bases in 115g at Class AAA Louisville...ranked second in the organization and fourth in the International League in steals.
2003
Spent the season playing for the Pirates' Class AAA affiliate in Nashville...hit .270 with 29 stolen bases in 116g for the Pacific Coast League East Division champion...made 94 apps at SS, 17 apps at 2B and 3 apps at 3B.

At Class AAA Tacoma was a Pacific Coast League All-Star...in 120g hit .311 with 17sb...ranked third in the Mariners organization in hitting...led the club in hitting and hits while ranking second in runs scored.

At Class AAA Louisville ranked among American Association leaders with 6 triples (5th) and 20 stolen bases (5th)...made his first Major League appearance on 4/14 vs Phi after Ozzie Smith went on the disabled list...played 2B and went 0-for-3...was recalled on 4/11 and returned to the minors on 4/15...didn't play in the majors again until 2005.

Spent most of the season at Class AAA Louisville but was promoted on 8/16, when Ryan Freel went to the disabled list...in that night's game vs SF pinch hit and struck out in the second appearance of his Major League career and his first in more than 9 seasons (4/14/96 for StL vs Phi)...became the first player to make a Major League appearance 9 years apart since Twins LHP Carlos Pulido did it for the Twins in 1994 and then 2003...the last non-pitcher to do it was White Sox OF Minnie Minoso (12 years, 1964 and 1976)...the last non-pitcher to do it without the benefit of a publicity stunt was IF Jim Baumer, who played 8g for the White Sox in 1949 and 10 games for the Reds in 1961...for the Reds appeared in 22g, including 4 starts (3g at 2B, 1g at 3B)...overall appeared in 4g at 2B, 2g at 3B and 2g at 1B...went 2-for-12 in 14 apps as a pinch hitter...on 8/26 at Pit produced his first Major League hit, a pinchhit double off Salomon Torres in his sixth career at bat...on 9/3 at Atl played 2B in his first big league start since 1996 and produced his first career RBI with a sac fly off Jorge Sosa...produced his second RBI on 10/2 at StL...recorded his only career stolen base on 9/20 vs StL...ranks among Louisville's all-time career leaders in at bats (1760, 1st), hits (471, 1st), runs (242, 2nd), games (500, 2nd) and triples (18, 2nd)...in 2005 for the Bats appeared in games at 1B (8g), 2B (23g), 3B (9g) and SS (23g)...twice was on Louisville's disabled list, from 6/17-6/28 with a strained left quadriceps muscle and from 7/7-7/ 20 with a strained left hamstring...hit a grand slam on 7/25 vs Toledo...entered 2005 with 1 Major League appearance in 15 pro seasons, a start at 2B in 1996 for the Cardinals...on 10/3 refused an outright assignment to Louisville and elected free agency...was re-signed to a minor league contract on 12/16...played for Navojoa in the Mexican Pacific League (47g, .314, 6hr, 32rbi, 8sb).
