Hill, who retired on March 23 of that year...he was set to begin his second season managing in the Rangers' Minor League system,
with Spokane (A) of the Northwest League...made his managerial debut in 2006 with Clinton (A) in the Midwest League...the
Lumberjacks finished with a 45-94 record...was at the helm of the Rangers' Instructional League program in 2005.

Fox played nine seasons in the Major Leagues, finishing with a .239 career average (776x1925), 30 home runs, 168 RBI, 65 doubles,
17 triples, and 74 stolen bases...played in three post-seasons, winning World Series titles with the New York Yankees (1996) and Florida
Marlins (2003)...Was acquired by the Marlins from Arizona for OF Danny Bautista on June 9, 2000...was 1x4 with one RBI in his Florida debut, a 7-6
loss at Tampa Bay on June 11...batted .235 (185x788) in 326 career games for the Marlins...had 23 doubles, nine triples, 10 home
runs, 66 RBI, and 41 stolen bases in his time with Florida (2000-2003)...played in 133 games for the Marlins in 2002, the second-highest
total of his career...also that season, set career highs with 31 stolen bases and 49 walks...Played every position in the field, except catcher and pitcher, with Florida: shortstop (166 games, 145 starts); third base (30 games,
15 starts); second base (26 games, 18 starts); left field (12 games, one start); right field (six games, three starts); first base (two games,

2004
Began last season with Montreal, but was released and signed a minor league contract with Texas on July 15. Batted .304 in 34 games for Triple-A Oklahoma. Got a late-season callup to the Rangers and headed into the offseason arbitration eligible.
2003
Fox played five different positions, spending the most time at second base (15 G, 8 GS, 86.0 innings)
and shortstop (9 G, 3 GS, 37.0 innings), while also seeing time at third base (5 G, 3 GS, 30.2 innings), first base (2 G,
2 GS, 17.0 innings) and left field (2 G, 1 GS, 10.0 innings)... hit .194 with five doubles, one triple and eight RBI in 108 atbats...
posted the lowest numbers of his career in a season with 100 or more at-bats in batting average, runs scored, hits,
home runs, RBI, walks, stolen bases, on-base percentage and slugging percentage...had a season-high three-game hitting
streak from April 10-April 19, batting .500 (3x6) over that span...ended an 0x11 slide over 15 games with his second multihit
game of the season, in a start at second base on September 27 vs. the Mets, as he went 2x4, RBI... was his first multihit
game since April 5 at Atlanta (his second game of the season)... his fifth-inning single was his first hit since a run-scoring

- played in 133 games, hitting .251 with 14 doubles, five triples, four home runs, 41 RBI and 31 stolen bases... was six games shy of his single-season best games played (139 with Arizona in 1998)... collected more at-bats (435 to 231), runs (55 to 37), hits (109 to 73), extra-base hits (23 to 18), RBI (41 to 27), walks (49 to 37) and stolen bases (31 to 11) in 2002 than he had over 154 games in his previous two seasons.
- set a new career high with his 31 stolen bases, finishing tied for seventh in the National League with
Philadelphia's Bobby Abreu, Jimmy Rollins and Milwaukee's Eric Young... had six multiple steal games... entered 2002 with four career two-steal games.
- posted two career-high 10-game hitting streaks... had his first 10-game streak from May 25-June 4 (.304, 14x46, 2 RBI)... hit .455 (15x33, 3B, 3 RBI) over his second 10-game streak, July 25-August 6.
- played 112 games at shortstop, seven games at second base, four games at third base and one game in right field... made 110 starts on the season, 103 at shortstop and seven at second base... hit in 75 of his starts, with 20 multi-hit games.
- took over as the Club's everyday shortstop on May 19 at San Francisco after a dislocated left shoulder
landed Alex Gonzalez on the DL for the remainder of the season... started 101 of Florida's remaining 119 games at shortstop, including 45 in a row leading into the All-Star Break... hit .242 (43x178) in the 45 straight starts... saw his consecutive starts streak end at 49 in a row as he sat out July 16 at Shea Stadium against the Mets... started the next six in a row, July 17-22, making it 55 starts in 56 games, from May 19-July 22.

- collected 41 RBI, three off his career best of 44 set in 1998... surpassed his RBI total from his past two
seasons (27)... recorded eight multiple RBI games, including three season-high three-RBI games: April 16 vs. Philadelphia, June 10 at Kansas City and September 13 vs. Atlanta.
- hit three home runs over an 11-game span, September 1-13, after hitting one homer over his previous 115 games... hit a solo homer off Pittsburgh's Kip Wells on September 1, added a solo homer in Game 2 of a
doubleheader in Philadelphia on September 10 off Vicente Padilla and hit a three-run shot off Greg Maddux vs. Atlanta on September 13.
- went 4x11 with a RBI as a pinch-hitter, collecting singles on April 10 vs. Montreal, May 3 at Milwaukee, May 11 vs. Los Angeles and August 28 vs. New York... reached base safely in seven of 14 pinch-hit plate
appearances, drawing two intentional walks and one hit by pitch.
- ended the season hitting in seven of his last nine contests, batting .281 (9x32) with one triple and four RBI.
- named the Charlie Hough "Good Guy" award winner for the player who best fosters positive relationships with the media.
2001
- played in 54 games and hit .185 with three home runs and seven RBI... suffered multiple fractures in his
little finger on his right hand on April 10 at Philadelphia, his first start of the season... placed on the 15-day disabled list on April 10 and was transferred to the 60-day DL on April 16... activated from the DL on July 12 and made his return to game action on July 13 vs. the New York Yankees.
- continued to show his versatility as he played 12 games at shortstop, nine games at third base, two games at second base and one game each in left field and center field... hit .241 (13x54, 3B, 3 HR, 7 RBI) as a starter... established a new Marlins' record by playing in his sixth different position when he went to center field on July 21 vs. Cincinnati... has played second base, shortstop, third base, left field, center field and right field in his Florida career... the six positions surpassed the record previously held by himself in 2000 and Jerry Browne (2B, 3B, LF, CF and RF) in 1994-95... also matched the record he held with Browne by playing five different positons in a single season, done for the second consecutive season... Fox played 2B, 3B, SS, LF and RF in 2000.
- saw action in four games before suffering the finger injury on April 20... was 0x5 on the season at the time of the injury, including 0x2 as a pinch-hitter.
- hit his first homer of the year on August 12 off Houston's Dave Mlicki in the first inning... was his first HR since August 6, 2000 at Cincinnati off RHP Danny Graves.

- had a season-high three-game hitting streak, from September 27-29, and hit .364 (4x11) with two home runs and four RBI over that span... posted two multi-hit games over a three-game stretch against the Atlanta Braves, from September 25-27... went 3x5 on September 25 and was 2x4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored on September 27... the three-hit game on September 25 was his 20th career game with at least three hits and his first since September 4, 2000 at Cincinnati.

- Played in 69 games with the Marlins and hit .244 (40/164) with three home runs, four doubles, two triples and 10 RBI... overall, played in 100 games with the Diamondbacks and Marlins and hit .232 (58/250) with four home runs, eight doubles, two triples and 20 RBI.
- Tied a Marlins club record originally set by Jerry Browne in 1994 and 1995 by playing five different positions in the field in 2000... also tied the club mark (set by Cliff Floyd on September 9, 1997 at San Diego and Danny Bautista on July 11, 1999 vs. Tampa Bay) by playing three different positions in a single game when he played shortstop, second base and left field on August 4 vs. Cincinnati.
- Played in 69 games for the Marlins, including 40 starts... played 33 games (28 starts) at shortstop, 12 games (eight starts) at third base, nine games in left field, five games (three starts) in right field and two games (one start) at second base.
- Made his Marlins debut on June 11 at Tampa Bay... collected a sixth inning RBI infield single to even the game at 4-4 before the Rays took a 7-6 victory.
- Hit his third Marlins home run on August 6 at Cincinnati... was the second of eighth inning back-to-back home runs with Derrek Lee that broke a 6-6 tie and led Florida to a 9-6 lead and a series sweep over the Reds at Cinergy Field.
- Provided all of the offense Jesus Sanchez would need in a 7-0 shutout of the St. Louis Cardinals on August 8 at Busch Stadium... slapped a fourth-inning two-run single off Pat Hentgen to give the Marlins an early 2-0 lead.
- Hit his first Marlins home run on June 30 at Montreal... hit the homer in the eighth off Anthony Telford to put Florida up 4-2 in the Marlins 5-4 victory.
- Had eight hits over a three-game span, from August 2-4 against the Astros and Reds... was 8-for-10 with a home run, two RBI and three runs scored in the three games.
- Hit his second Florida home run and his first at Pro Player Stadium, on August 2 off Houston's Wade Miller... had his first two stolen base game of the season and the fourth in his career, on August 3 vs. the Astros when he recorded a 3-for-3 contest... went 3-for-4 in a victory over the Reds on August 4... scored the
game-winning run as Mike Redmond's second inning two-run single provided the only Florida scoring in the 2-1 win.
- Drilled a first-inning two-run double off the Dodgers Kevin Brown to highlight a first inning comeback in the Marlins 11-2 victory over Los Angeles on August 14... trailing 2-0 after the top of the first, the Marlins scored four runs in the bottom of the inning, capped off by Fox's hit that scored Florida's third and fourth runs of the frame... the Marlins would not relinquish the lead as they followed with five more runs in the next frame to build a 9-2 margin after two innings.
- Played in 31 games, including 10 starts, for the Diamondbacks and hit .209 (18/86) with one home run and 10 RBI.
- Had a season-high four-game hitting streak while with Arizona, from May 6-10 and hit .467 (7-for-15) over that span... tied career highs with four hits and four RBI on May 8 vs. the Los Angeles Dodgers... was the second four-hit game and second four-RBI game of his career (also had four hits on July 28, 1998 vs. Chicago and had four RBI on July 4, 1999 at St. Louis).
- Began his Marlins career hitting .158 (9/57) over his first 25 games, from June 11 through July 28... hit .290 (31/107) over his final 44 games with two home runs, four doubles, two triples and seven RBI.
- Hit safely in nine of 14 games from July 31 through August 14, batting .439 (18/41) over that span, to increase his Marlins batting average from .158 to .276 and increase his overall average from .189 to .245... also hit .367 (22/60) over 19 games from July 31 through August 20.
- Recorded his first pinch-hit of the season on July 21 vs. Montreal, a single to shortstop in the fourth inning off Mike Thurman... following the hit, Fox stole his first base as a Marlin.
- Collected 29 hits in 147 at-bats over his first 57 games played through the end of July, for a .197 batting average... had 29 hits in 103 at bats over his final 43 games, for a .282 batting average.
- Overall, played seven different positions during the season, all but pitcher and catcher.
1999
- Played SS and 3B for the Arizona Diamondbacks... played in 99 games and hit .255 (70-for-274) with six HR, 33 RBI, 12 2B, two 3B and four SB.
- Had his best offensive stretch of the season from May 11 to June 4, a 16-game span where he hit .392 (20-for-51) and raised his average from .167 to .320.
- Went 2-for-5 with a home run and a career-high four RBI on July 4 at Busch Stadium against St. Louis... hit another homer three days later, a solo shot off Houston's Wade Miller.
- Missed three weeks with a right rib cage strain.
- Led the Diamondbacks in hit by pitches, getting plunked nine times during the year.
- Played one game in the NL Division Series against the Mets... was the starting SS in game three at Shea, going 0-for-3.
1998
- Set personal bests in every offensive category, serving as Arizona's leadoff hitter for the final 4 1/2 months of the season, starting at six different positions, including all three outfield spots, third base, second base and first base, including fill-in time for both Matt Williams and Travis Lee... Anaheim's Craig Shipley was the only other Major Leaguer to start at six different positions in 1998.
- Moved into the Arizona leadoff spot on May 15 and batted .314 (77-for-245) in his first 64 games at the top of the order, topping his season mark out at .299... finished the season as a .282 (120-for-426) leadoff hitter.
- Finished sixth in the NL with 18 hit by pitches, establishing a new expansion record (three more than Montreal's Mack Jones in 1969).
- Had his first career four-hit game on July 28 vs. the Chicago Cubs, starting the contest with a leadoff homer... also had a leadoff homer on June 12 vs. St. Louis.
- Tied a club mark with four runs scored in the nightcap of a twinbill at Philadelphia on August 20 and was the only Diamondback to steal home, on August 16.
- Set a club record by reaching base safely in seven consecutive plate appearances (June 26-28) with four hits and three walks.
- Had a pair of career-best eight-game hitting streaks, the first featuring a .515 batting mark (17-for-33) from July 25-August 1.
- Hit .277 (67-for-242) in 72 games prior to the All-Star break and then hit .277 (72-for-260) in 67 games after the break.
- Batted .333 (32-for-96) against lefties and .264 (107-for-406) against righties.
1997
- Spent the majority of the year with Columbus (AAA) in the New York Yankees system, earning the distinction as the "Best Baserunner" among AAA players in a poll of managers by Baseball America.
- Appeared in 22 games for the Yankees, with 31 plate appearances in two recalls.
- Was a member of the postseason roster, twice appearing as a pinch runner in the Division Series vs. the Indians.
1996
- Hit .196 in 113 games for the World Champion Yankees.
- Recorded his first Major League hit on April 11 vs. Kansas City, a single off Tim Belcher.
- Hit his first big league home run on June 6 vs. Toronto, a three-run shot off Paul Spoljaric.
- Had nine assists at third base on June 11, two shy of the big league record.
- Saw action in eight postseason games, seven times as a pinch runner, scoring a run in the World Series vs. the Braves.
1995
- Spent the majority of the 1995 season playing at Columbus (AAA) and Norwich (AA)... was recalled to the majors on September 18, and did not appear in a game.
- Named International League Player of the Week for June 12-18.
- Played in Scottsdale in the Arizona Fall League and hit .353 in nine games before bruising his left knee.
1994
- Spent the entire 1994 season at Albany (AA) and hit .222 in 121 games.
- Hit .272 with seven homers, 41 RBI and nine stolen bases with Peoria of the Arizona Fall League... voted the first AFL Player-of-the-Week, hitting .407.
1993
- Played 65 games at Albany (A) in 1993 before spending two months on the D.L. with a sprained finger on his right hand.
1992
- Appeared in 125 games for Prince William (A) in 1992 and earned the "Best Defensive Third Baseman" and "Best Infield Arm" honors in a Baseball America vote of Carolina League managers.
1991
- Hit for the cycle against Lynchburg on May 4, 1991, his first season at Prince William... played 126 games at third base and earned a spot on the Carolina League All-Star team.
1990
- Played for Greensboro (A) in 1990 and was named to the South Atlantic League All-Star Team.
