Andrew (Andy) Mulligan Green graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in Lexington, KY...Played baseball at the University of Kentucky where he was a teammate of the Diamondbacks' Brandon Webb...Graduated from Kentucky with a 3.89 grade point average in finance and earned a spot on the GTE Academic All- American first team.
2009
Joined the Mets on August 17th from Buffalo (AAA) of the International League...Appeared in four games for New York as a pinch hitter, going 1-4 (.250)...Also played second base and third base vs. Atlanta on August 19th...Drew a walk in his first appearance as a Mets player, August 17th vs. the Giants...Designated for Assignment on August 22nd and optioned back to Buffalo on August 24th...Spent most of the season with Buffalo, although his season was cut short by two injuries...Began the year with a left oblique strain and missed the first 11 games of the season...Activated on April 21st and played in just eight games before suffering a fractured left thumb...Placed on the 15-Day Disabled List from May 3rd-July 18th (missed 68 games)...Before rejoining Buffalo, he played two games with the Mets' Gulf Coast League team (1-6, .167) and six contests with Brooklyn (A) of the New York-Penn League (6-21, 286)...Hit safely in 16 of 18 games from July 30th-August 16th (.329, 23-70)...Had a nine-game hitting streak from August 9th- August 16th (.444, 16-36)...Started 26 games at third base, 15 games at second base, five games at shortstop, one game in rightfield and was the team's designated hitter twice...Hit .270 (41-152) with four home runs and 19 RBI in the final 42 games of the year...Had six games with two hits and three contests with three hits.

Went to Spring Training with the Cincinnati Reds and began the year with the Reds' Louisville (AAA) team of the International League...Joined the Mets' New Orleans (AAA) club of the Pacific Coast League on July 2nd after being released by Cincinnati on July 1st.

Tied for league lead with 38 doubles, tied for second with .302 batting average and had a ratio of one strikeout per 10.88 ABs, third lowest in the league...played primarily second base in his first three seasons as a pro but served in a utility role for El Paso, playing second base (64 games), third base (10), shortstop (39) and outfield (14)...one of team's top hitters, paced club in average, games, hits, total bases (196), doubles, sacrifice hits and hit by pitches, ranked second in runs and stolen bases and third in RBI and walks...extremely consistent posting a .302 average against both righties and lefties...compiled a .336 average with 42 RBI with runners in scoring position...reached base via a hit or walk in 25 consecutive games from June 4-July 2...pieced together career-best 15-game hit streak from June 7-25 with a .410 average, 14 runs scored, 7 doubles, a triple and 6 RBI...later added a pair of double-digit streaks, hitting safely in 14 straight games from July 6-21 and a 10-game hit streak from August 16-27.

Chosen by Baseball America as the best defensive second baseman in the California League...with a .309 batting average for Lancaster, ranked fifth in the league, while hitting .292 overall, ninth in the farm system...collected 36 doubles, tied for second in the Cal League...led the farm system with 69 walks...was the league's third-toughest batter to strikeout, fanning once every 8.08 at bats...opened the year with Tucson, appearing in 27 games before transfer to Lancaster on May 7...in final game for Tucson, went 3- for-5 with a double, solo home run and 4 RBI...had a 5-hit game at Stockton on July 1...named Cal League Player-of-the-Week for July 8-14 after batting .526 (10-for-19)...hit for the cycle and had 4 RBI on August 21 at High Desert, waiting until the ninth inning to hit his home run.

Was Midwest League's second-toughest hitter to strikeout, fanning once every 11.24 plate appearances... led league second baseman with .973 fielding percentage...swiped 51 bases, second on the team...reached base via a hit or walk in 107 of 128 games including 23 straight from May 30-June 28...registered first 5-hit game of his career on July 20 vs. Quad City.
