Utilityman has seen extensive action at 2nd base, shortstop and 3rd base over his 11-year professional career...has also played some first base...spent his first seven seasons in the San Francisco Giants organization and reached the majors in 2005, playing 10 games for the Giants, his lone major league experience...is one of 11 current Panama-born players to have played in the majors.
2009
Signed a minor league deal with the Red Sox and played 3rd base for Triple-A Pawtucket where he established a franchise record for fielding percentage at the position (.965)...played in a team-high 127 games...played 2nd base for Panama in the World Baseball Classic and went 2-for-8 in two games...played for Mochis in the Mexican Winter League.
2008
Signed with the Dodgers as a minor league free agent and played all four infield positions at Triple-A Las Vegas...set career bests in batting (.292) and hits (135).
2007
Signed with the Yankees as a minor league free agent and spent the entire year at Triple-A Scranton...again saw action at all four infield positions.
2006
Claimed off waivers by Philadelphia on April 5...hit a combined .265 with 33 2B, 11 HR and 61 RBI at three stops: Scranton and Double-A Reading and Bowie (Orioles)...was acquired by the Orioles on Aug 30 to complete an earlier trade.
2005
Enjoyed career year at minor league level, before having contract purchased by SF Aug. 30...made big league debut that night vs. Colorado, starting at shortstop for ailing Omar Vizquel...saw action in 10 games (4 starts - 3 at SS, 1 at 2B) with Giants, going 5-for-19 (.263) with 2B...collected 1st 2 ML hits Sept. 6 at LA, 5th-inning 1B off Brad Penny and 7th-inning 2B off Giovanni Carrara...started that night at 2B in place of injured Ray Durham...delivered run-scoring single Oct. 2 for 1st big league RBI...opened year at single-A San Jose, but logged majority of campaign at triple-A Fresno...despite missing final 2 weeks of minor league season, ranked 5th among all Giants farmhands with career-high 83 RBI in combined 119 games...batted .282 with 19 2Bs, 4 3Bs and career-high 16 HRs.
2004
Opened year at double-A level for 1st time, playing in 89 games with Norwich...batted .198 with 21 RBI before suffering lower back strain...ended year in lower rungs of SF system...went 6-for-16 (.375) during 4-game stint in Arizona Rookie League...closed out year by hitting at .389 clip (21-for-51) with 16 RBI in 12 games for single-A San Jose.
2003
Posted his finest season since coming to United States, hitting .280 with 23 2Bs, 6 3Bs, 10 HRs and 58 RBI in 120 contests for single-A San Jose...marked 3rd straight year at San Jose...also stole 20 bases, 2nd highest total of his led Giants in runs scored (69), while tying for 2nd in both HRs and RBI...played shortstop exclusively (117 games), marking 1st time in his career after playing mostly 3rd base in previous seasons.

Logged full season at single-A San Jose, serving as club's 3rd baseman...established career highs in games (130), at-bats (471), runs (61), hits (121), 3Bs (5), RBI (62) and stolen bases (21)...theft total was 3rd highest among Giants farmhands...led San Jose in games, RBI and SBs...played 113 games at 3B, 19 at SS and 1 at 2B...was tabbed San Jose's Co-Player of Month in August, hitting .311 with 15 runs, 3 2Bs, 6 HRs and 27 RBI in 25 games...had just 2 HRs coming into month.

Split year between Giants' single-A affiliates Hagerstown and San Jose...combined to hit .238 (84-for-353) with 42 runs, 24 2Bs, 5 HRs, 31 RBI and 11 stolen bases...opened year at Hagerstown, where he hit .189 with 2 HRs and 3 RBI in 13 games...following slow start, was sent to extended spring training April 23...earned promotion to San Jose May 22...remained with California League Co-Champions remainder of season, hitting .244 with 37 runs, 22 2Bs, 2 3Bs, 3 HRs and 28 RBI over 84 games...paced Giants in Cal League playoffs with 4 RBI on strength of 3-for-8 showing (.375) with 2 runs, 3B and HR.

Was limited to 7 games for Arizona Rookie League team due to injuries.
1999
Kicked off professional career with La Victoria of Venezuelan Summer League...established career high of 14 HRs in just 52 games...led league in HRs, runs (40), hits (64) and RBI (49), while finishing 3rd with .344 avg.
