Selected by Tampa Bay in the 48th round of the June 2001 draft out of Capistrano Valley High School in California, but he did not sign. ... Began his seventh professional season with Triple-A New Orleans, where in 73 total games with the Z's he hit .287 with 14 doubles, nine home runs and 34 RBI ... On June 18 at Memphis, hit one of three three-run home runs in the Zephyrs 13-run fourth inning. Donnie Murphy and Scott Cousins were the other two Z's to homer in the frame as the 13 runs established a Franchise record for most runs in an inning ... His best month came in June as he hit .310 (22x71) with 13 runs scored, two doubles, three home runs and 14 RBI in 20 contests ... Enjoyed two stints with Florida, the first from July 21 to August 5. In that time, had two hits in nine at-bats, including one triple and one RBI in his three starting assignments ... He was recalled for the second time on August 20 and finished the season with the Fish. Started 29 of Florida's 42 remaining games, batting .210 (21x100) with seven doubles, three home runs and 15 RBI in that span ... Before this year that hadn't happened since Edgardo Alfonzo did it for the Giants in 2004. Davis was the fourth player ever to hit a grand slam off Carpenter, and the first to do so since Hank Blalock in 2004. - Elias Owned a caught-stealing percentage of 26.9, throwing out seven of 26 potential basestealers. Had the lowest catchers ERA on the club at 3.92 (278.0 IC/121 ER).
2009
Began campaign with Double-A Jacksonville prior to a 10-day stint with triple-A New Orleans from May 22 to June 2. With Suns, hit .236 with 10 home runs and 43 RBI in 88 games. In 10 games with Zephyrs, batted .114 with two doubles and four RBI...On April 18 vs. West Tennessee, tallied a season-high four hits. Also homered and drove in four runs. Equaled his season-best RBI total on May 14 vs. Mississppi with a ninth-inning walk-off grand slam...His best offensive month came in August, where he posted a .313 average (20x64) with seven doubles, three home runs and eight RBI...Hit .280 (7x25) with one home run and two RBI in Jacksonville's run to the Southern League championship.
2008
Spent entire 2008 season at Double-A Carolina, posting a .205 average with six home runs and 28 RBI in 81 games...started season hitting in first seven games (8x27), scoring five runs with two doubles, two home runs and four RBI...drove in season-high five runs in his final game, August 31 vs. Tennessee.
2007
In 2007, began season at double-A Carolina and was promoted to Triple-A Albuquerque on May 9...appeared in one game with Isotopes before fracturing his right hand, landing him on the Disabled List from May 10-June 10.

Played all season with Greensboro (A) and batted .228 with five home runs and 24 RBI in 64 games...saw action as catcher (59 games) and designated hitter (two games)...threw out 38 percent (33x86) of attempted base runners...had season-high four hits (4x5, 2 RBI) on August 23 at Asheville...recorded season-best eight-game hitting streak from August 15-24, hitting .432 (16x37) with one home run and six RBI...had best month in August, batting .310 (26x84) with four home runs and 12 RBI...batted .267 with one home run in 60 at-bats against left-handed pitchers, and .214 with four home runs in 168 at-bats against right-handers.

Batted .295 with 14 RBI in 42 games with Jamestown (A)...had season-high three hits (3x5) on August 12 at Mahoning Valley...recorded season-high two RBI in consecutive games August 30 and September 1 against Staten Island...batted .316 (30x95) with 10 RBI in 25 games in August and September...appeared in 38 games as catcher and four games as designated hitter.
