Full name is Brian Lee Sanches...he and his wife, Kylie, have one daughter, Charlee (8/16/07), and one son, Cole (4/21/09)...Graduated from Nederland (Texas) High School in 1996...played baseball, football, basketball and ran track... tossed three no-hitters while in high school...Attended Lamar University (Beaumont, Texas) where he was named Pitcher of the Year for the Cardinals... completed his education in 2010 earning a degree in general studies.
2012
Brian opened the season with Lehigh Valley (AAA) in the Phillies organization before having his contract selected on May 1...Made 6 appearances with the Phillies over two stints before being released and signing a minor league contract with the Astros on August 5...Pitched in Oklahoma City (AAA) the remainder of the campaign.
2011

Started his 11th professional campaign at triple-A New Orleans, where he posted a 1-1 record and four saves with a 2.04 ERA in 16 games with the Zephyrs. He struck out 22 batters while only walking four in his 17.2 innings...Had contract selected by Florida on May 18 and went on to set career-bests in every category. Posted a 4-2 record and 2.56 ERA in 47 games with the Marlins. Walked 26 batters and struck out 51 in his 56.1 innings of work...Began the season with 25.2 consecutive scoreless innings at home, which marked the third longest home scoreless streak in franchise history and longest by a reliever. Surrendered first run at home on August 25 vs. San Diego. His streak was the longest by a reliever since Toronto's Scott Downs tossed 30.2 scoreless from April 18 to September 6, 2008...Made 26 of his 47 appearances at Sun Life Stadium, surrendering only six earned runs in 32.1 innings pitched (1.67 ERA).
