Compiled a career low 1.93 ERA in a career high 48 games for the Philadelphia Phillies Triple-A affiliate at Lehigh Valley...added five saves, which was also a career high...held the opposition to a .182 batting average, which was the lowest mark among International League relievers...struck out 67 in 60.2 innings and his average of 9.94 strikeouts per nine innings ranked third among IL relievers...yielded just one home run...his opponents batting average included a .154 (21 for 136) mark against right-handed hitters and .233 (17 for 73) against left-handers...had 15 walks and 14 strikeouts against lefties and 30 walks and 53 strikeouts against righties...issued 45 walks overall, an average of 6.68 per nine innings... allowed a .108 average with runners in scoring position and opponents were 2 for 32 (.063) with RISP and two outs...yielded a .271 average to batters leading off an inning...posted a 0.66 ERA in 10 games in June and a 0.87 ERA in 10 outings in August...compiled a 0.95 ERA in 23 appearances at home and had a 1.44 ERA in 36 games at night...converted 5 of 7 (71.4%) save opportunities and allowed 3 of 18 (16.7%) inherited runners to score...tossed at least 1.0 inning in 41 of his 48 relief appearances.

In his first season as a member of the Colorado organization, Bowers spent the majority of the year with Triple-A Colorado Springs...made his Major League debut July 2 vs. San Diego, tossing a scoreless frame...would make four more appearances (5.2 ip, 10 er) over the next week before being optioned back to Colorado Springs...finished the season with a 6-1 record and a 3.74 ERA with one save in 35 games, two starts, for the Sky Sox...posted a 3-1 record with a 2.57 ERA on the road...compiled a 1.98 ERA in June (13.2 ip, 3 er)...assigned to Colorado Springs from extended Spring Training April 29...struck out a season-high eight batters in 5.0 innings while picking up a win at Fresno May 15... struck out five batters in relief during a 2.0 inning performance against Las Vegas Aug. 21...from Aug. 16-28, tossed a season-high six consecutive scoreless outings, spanning 9.2 innings...in that time, allowed four hits and five walks while striking out 17...posted a 1-0 record with a 1.64 ERA during his two starts...called up by the Rockies July 1...optioned to Colorado Springs July 11.

Spent his second full season with the Durham Bulls, helping the team to the Governors Cup, his second Minor League championship (Orlando in 1999)...appeared in a career high 47 games, all in relief, for Durham...posted a 4-3 record with a 3.12 ERA with 79 strikeouts...tossed 15 consecutive scoreless outings from June 2 to July 24, a span of 24.1 innings pitched without allowing a run...opponents hit .274 against him, but just .189 with runners in scoring position...did not allow a home run to a left-handed hitter all season (87 plate appearances).
2001
In his first full season with Triple-A Durham he split time as a starter and reliever...made 31 relief appearances for the Bulls after starting 117 of his first 118 games over his first five seasons in professional baseball.

In his last season used primarily as a starter he spent the majority of the campaign with Double- A Orlando before being transferred to Triple-A Durham for his final four starts...ranked ninth in the Southern League with his 2.78 ERA...as a starter for Orlando held opponents to a .214 average...named the Devil Rays Pitcher of the Month for May after posting a 1.97 ERA.
1999
In his first season with Double-A Orlando he finished second in the organization with 138 strikeouts... owned a 9.94 strikeout-per-nine-inning ratio, the best in the Southern League and second best in all of Minor League Baseball.

Led the Tampa Bay organization and finished third in the Florida State League with 156 strikeouts in his first season with St. Petersburg.

Finished third in the South Atlantic League with his career high of 168 strikeouts...led the league with 78 walks.
