Full name is Sebern Chase Wright...graduated from Iowa Park (TX) High School, where he was named to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association 2001 3-A All-State Team...was signed by Mark Batchko.

Went 2-0 with a 7.20 ERA in three games (2GS) over two stints with the Yankees in 2007 (4/17-4/23; 9/17-9/30)...Opponents batted .293 (12-for-41, 5HR); LH .250 (3-for-12, 2HR), RH .310 (9-for-29, 3HR)...Was recalled from Double-A Trenton on 4/17 when RHP Mike Mussina and RHP Carl Pavano were placed on the disabled list...Was the first Yankees starter to make his Major League debut straight from Double-A since LHP Sean Henn was recalled on 5/3/05 and started the following day (5/4/05) at Tampa Bay (lost 11-8)...Made Major League debut on 4/17 vs. Cleveland and recorded his first Major League win (5.0IP, 5H, 3ER, 1HR, 3BB, 3K)...became the first Yankees pitcher to win his Major League debut as a starter since LHP Brad Halsey on 6/19/04 at the Los Angeles Dodgers...The Yankees started Wright, Kei Igawa and Darrell Rasner in their series vs. Cleveland from 4/17-19...according to the Elias Sports Bureau, it marked the first time the Yankees started rookies in three consecutive non-September games since 7/18-20/91 at Oakland (Scott Kamieniecki, Jeff Johnson and Wade Taylor)...Additionally, during the three-game sweep of the Indians, each starter recorded their first career Major League win...according to the Elias Sports Bureau, the Yankees became the first team in Major League history to sweep a series of three or more games with the three winning pitchers each recording their first Major League victory...it was also the first time three rookies recorded their first career ML wins in three straight games for the Yankees since Norm Branch, Charlie Stanceu and Steve Peek did so from 5/20-22/41. ...Was the third different rookie to start for the Yankees in 2007 in the team's first 12 games...according to the Elias Sports Bureau, it marked the earliest in a season that the team started three rookies since 1944, when three rookies started for the Yankees in the first nine games of the season (Johnny Johnson, Monk Dubiel and Joe Page)...Recorded a no-decision in his second start on 4/22 at Boston (3.0IP, 5H, 4ER, 3BB, 3K, 4HR)...became only the second pitcher in Major League history to allow four consecutive home runs in an inning, joining Paul Foytak, who did so on 7/1/63 with California vs. Cleveland...became the fourth pitcher in Yankees history to surrender four home runs in a single inning, joining Randy Johnson (8/21/05 at Chicago-AL), Scott Sanderson (5/2/92 vs. Minnesota) and Catfish Hunter (6/17/77 at Boston)...was optioned back to Trenton following the game...Was recalled by the Yankees for a second time on 9/17...made one appearance, recording the win on 9/30 at Baltimore, allowing 1ER on 2H in 2.0IP (2K)...Combined to go 13-5 with one save and a 3.88 ERA (144.0IP, 134H, 69R, 62ER, 63BB, 81K, 15HR) in 25 games (24GS) with Trenton and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2007...Opponents batted .248 (134-540, 15HR); LH .239 (32-134, 3HR), RH .251 (102-406; 12HR)...Started the season with Trenton and in 10 starts over two stints, went 5-2 with a 3.62 ERA (59.2IP, 55H, 25R, 24ER, 21BB, 41K, 8HR)...Was named Eastern League "Pitcher of the Week" for the week ending 4/15 by Major League Baseball Advanced Media...at the time of the award and his subsequent call-up, led the Eastern League in innings pitched (14.0), strikeouts (19), ERA (0.00) and WHIP (0.36)...Was transferred to Scranton/WB on 5/4...in 15G (14GS) with Scranton/WB, went 8-3 with one save and a 4.01 ERA...Earned his first career save in his only relief appearance of the season on 7/22 vs. Charlotte, throwing the final 3.0 innings of the win (2H, 1ER, 2K)...was transferred back to Trenton on 7/24...Tossed a complete-game shutout on 8/25 vs. Binghamton (9.0IP, 4H, 2BB, 3K), the second of his career...Recorded the win in a 3-1 Trenton victory at the Portland Sea Dogs on 9/5 in Game 1 of the Eastern League Division Series (6.2IP, 7H, 1R, 0ER, 6K)...did not record a decision in a 3-2 Trenton victory at the Akron Aeros on 9/12 in Game 2 of the EL Championship Series (7.0IP, 5H, 2R, 1ER, 2BB, 4K)...Appeared in four Spring Training games for the Yankees in 2007, going 0-1 with a 2.84 ERA (12.2IP, 9H, 4ER, 6BB, 10K)...was selected by the Yankees in the third round of the 2001 First-Year Player Draft out of Iowa Park (Tex.) In his finest minor-league season, went 12-3 with a 1.88 ERA in 37 games (14 starts) for Class-A Tampa and was named Florida State League "Pitcher of the Year"...led the league in ERA and ranked second in wins...for the second consecutive season, tied for second among all Yankees minor leaguers in wins...allowed just one home run in 119.2IP and none to right-handed hitters in 343 AB...opponents batted .218 (95-for-435, 1HR); LH .228 (21-for-92, 1HR), RH .216 (74-for-343, 0HR). 4 Began the season in the bullpen, and went 3-0 with a 2.53 ERA in 23 appearances before moving into the rotation on 6/23...did not allow an earned run in six June appearances (18.1IP)...made starts in each of his final 14 appearances of the season, going 9-3 with a 1.64 ERA (87.2IP, 16ER)...went at least 5.0 in each of his 14 starts...went 8-2 with a 1.49 ERA in his final 11 starts of the season (72.2IP, 12ER), tossing at least 6.0 innings in each appearance...fashioned his second career complete game and first shutout on 8/22 at Sarasota, tossing a three-hitter over 7.0IP.

Made 25 appearances (in a minor-league career-high 24 starts) for Class-A Charleston, posting a 10-4 record with a 3.75 ERA...led the team and ranked fourth among all Yankees minor leaguers with 110 strikeouts...was tied for second among all Yankees minor leaguers in wins and ranked eighth with his 3.75 ERA...held left-handed batters to a .206 (28-for-136) average...went 3-0 with a 2.20 ERA in six August starts...went 4-0 with a 2.42 ERA in his final eight starts of the season (from 7/28-9/4)-going at least 6.0 innings in seven of those eight contests.
2004
In 18 starts for Single-A Battle Creek, posted a 5-8 record with a 5.44 ERA...went 4-4 with a 3.50 ERA (61.2IP, 24ER) in 11 starts at home but struggled on the road, going 1-4 with a 10.36 ERA (24.1IP, 28ER)...was transferred to Class-A Staten Island and made one start on 7/19 vs. Mahoning Valley before being placed on the disabled list from 7/20-through the end of the season with left elbow inflammation...had arthroscopic surgery performed on 8/19.
2003
Combined to go 4-6 with a 3.98 ERA in 21 appearances (16 starts) for Class-A Staten Island and Class-A Battle Creek...began the season with Battle Creek, going 1-1 with a 6.43 ERA in seven appearances (two starts)...was transferred to Staten Island on 5/13 and concluded the season there, going 3-5 with a 3.56 ERA in 14 starts...ranked fourth in the NY Penn League with 81.0IP and fifth with his 14 starts...surrendered just 2HR in his 81.0 innings of work...allowed two earned runs or less in each of his first five starts, going 1-0 with a 1.86 ERA (29.0IP, 6ER)...struck out a minor-league career-high 12 batters in 8/19 win vs. Aberdeen, allowing 3H and 1ER in a career-high 8.0.

In his second full season with the Gulf Coast Yankees, went 2-3 with a 3.43 ERA in 10 games (seven starts)...led the GCL with 39 walks...went 1-3 with a 4.30 ERA in seven starts (29.1IP, 14ER)...made three appearances out of the bullpen, going 1-0 with a 1.42 ERA (12.2IP, 4H, 2ER)...on 7/1 at Detroit, tossed 6.0 innings of one-hit shutout ball to earn the win.
