WITH THE RED SOX: Was recalled from Double-A Portland to make his major league debut May
31 at Toronto and made 3 starts with the big league club before being optioned to Pawtucket
on June 11...went 0-2 with a 7.88 ERA in the 3 outings...became the first Red Sox pitcher to make
the jump from Double-A to the majors since Craig Hansen in 2005, the first to do so as a starter
since Abe Alvarez in 2004...recorded a no-decision in Boston's 8-6 win in Toronto on May 31...was charged with 6 runs on 11 hits and 3 walks in 4.1 innings...had allowed only 2 runs into the
5th inning before 4 more crossed that frame...turned in his best start June 6 at Yankee Stadium,
