Made seven relief appearances for the Blue Jays... On Aug. 17 had his contract purchased by Toronto from Syracuse (AAA)... Made his Major League debut on Aug. 18 at BAL (2.2IP, H, 2K)... On Sept. 20 vs. NYY, picked up his 1st Major League victory (2.1IP, 3H, ER, BB, K) after replacing an injured Roy Halladay in the 4th inning... Of his seven relief appearances, five have been of 2.0 innings or more... Worked a career high 3.1 innings on two occasions (Aug. 23 vs. OAK & Sept. 26 at DET)... Began the season in New Hampshire of the Eastern League (AA)...Tossed a shutout on May 1 vs. Bowie (9.0 IP, H, BB, 4K)... Was promoted to Syracuse of the International League (AAA) on June 12, 2006... Was named a Minor League "Star of the Month" for Syracuse in the month of July... Made eight relief appearances, going 3-0-1 with a 1.02 ERA... Was the lone minor league player to represent the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2006 XM Satellite Radio All-Star Futures Game in Pittsburgh, PA.

Pitched to a 9-6 record with one save and a 3.47 ERA in 18 starts and 34 appearances... Held a 2-0 record with a 3.00 ERA in 16 relief appearances... Started the season in the starting rotation, but was moved to the bullpen after going 0-5 in six starts...Returned to the starting staff in July he prospered, going 7-0 with a 2.40 ERA in 10 starts from July 15 through the end of the regular season... Selected as a Blue Jays Minor League Star of the Month in July... Named as the Florida State League Pitcher of the Week on August 1, after picking up wins in a pair of starts without allowing an earned run... Struck out 11 batters in a pair of starts, July 26 at Daytona and August 10 against Sarasota... Finished the season with 136 strikeouts (ranking third in the league) in 124.2 innings pitched... Both figures represent career bests.
