Last name is pronounced as "muh-JESKY"...Is a 1998 graduate of St. Pius X High School in Houston, TX, where his No. 34 jersey was retired on April 7, 2006... chosen unanimously as the 1998 Houston Player of the Year after going 14-3 with a 1.64 ERA...led his team to the 5-A state title...Drafted out of St. Pius by the Chicago White Sox in the second round of the 1998 draft...signed by White Sox scouts Ken Stauffer and Paul Provas...Signed to a minor league deal by Houston for the 2010 season and invited to Major League Spring Training on Dec. 8, 2009.
2009
Signed with Philadelphia to a minor league contract and invited to Major League Spring Training on Jan. 5...went 1-0 with a 2.40 ERA (4ER/15IP) in 10 relief appearances for the Phillies during the spring season...assigned to Triple A Lehigh Valley for the regular season and spent the entire year with the club, posting an 0-5 record with five saves and a 4.02 ERA (28ER/62.2IP)... declared minor league free agency on Nov. 9 and was signed by Houston to a minor league deal for 2010 with an invite to MLB Spring Training on Dec. 8.
2008
Began the season with Louisville (AAA)...recalled by the Reds on June 1...posted a 3.45 ERA (11ER/28.2IP) in his first 23 appearances and a 14.29 ERA (18ER/11.1IP) in his final 14 games...tied his career high with 3.0 IP on June 24 at TOR...was on the bereavement list from June 10-13, for the birth of his daughter...following the season was not tendered a contract by Cincinnati and was declared a free agent on Dec. 13.
2007
Made 32 apps during 2 stints with the Reds and 38 apps at Louisville...began the season with the Bats and went 1-1, 4.50 in 15 apps before he was recalled on 5/24...made 10 apps for Cin before he was optioned back to Louisville on 6/15...after 23 more apps for the Bats (0-0-4, 3.57) was promoted again on 8/7 and spent the rest of the season with the Reds...from 8/18-8/28 made a season-high 7 consecutive scoreless apps (7ip)...in the doubleheader on 8/28 at Pit was the only Reds pitcher to throw in both games... while with Louisville, on 4/20 vs Norfolk allowed a season-high 6 earned runs in 0.2ip...his ERA for the Bats without that appearance drops from 3.96 to 2.61...in spring training didn't pitch until 3/28 while strengthening his right shoulder...after that exhibition appearance was optioned to Louisville.

Combined to finish 4-4, 4.61 in 65 relief apps with the Nationals and Reds...from 8/7-8/31 was on Cin's 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his right shoulder...after he re-joined the club on 9/1, following 4 rehab apps at Class AAA Louisville, posted a 1.59era in his final 8 apps of the season...began the year with the Nationals and posted a 3.58era in 46 relief apps before he was traded to the Reds on 7/13 as part of an 8-player deal...had a 3.11era in his first 45 apps of the season, then in his last outing of the first half allowed 3er in 0.1ip that raised ERA to 3.58 at the break...in that appearance snapped his season-high 13.1-inning scoreless streak (6/20-7/8)...while pitching for the Reds posted a 12.54era in 11 apps before he went on the DL...didn't allow a run in 7 of his 8 apps after he came off the disabled list.

In his first full Major League season made 79 apps for the Nationals...began the season at Class AAA New Orleans and made 3 apps there before he was promoted to Wsh on 4/18, when Antonio Osuna went on the disabled list...stayed with the Nationals the rest of the season...his 79 apps led the staff and established a franchise rookie record for games pitched (Tim Burke, 78g, 1985)...ranked among all National League pitchers in apps (79, T2nd), relief innings (86.0, 3rd) and holds (24, 5th)...ranked among the NL rookie pitching leaders in apps (79, 1st), ERA (2.93, 2nd), opponents' BA against (.248, 2nd), saves (1, T4th) and innings pitched (86.0, 7th)...teamed with Luis Ayala as 1 of only 3 tandems in the Major Leagues with at least 20 holds each (WSox' Cliff Politte & Damasco Marte, SD's Scott Linebrink & Akinori Otsuka)...didn't allow a run in May (14g, 16ip)...that 16.0-inning scoreless streak was a career-best (5/2-5/31)...in August and September posted a 1.59era...pitched on consecutive days 25 times and posted a 2.77era...allowed only 2 home runs in 86.0 innings (Ryan Howard, 7/10 at Phi & Carlos Beltran, 9/23 vs NYM)...retired 61 of 78 first batters faced (78%)...stranded 20-27 inherited baserunners (74%)...earned his only save of the season, and second of his career, by pitching a scoreless 10th inning on 9/15 at NYM...twice recorded a career-high 3 strikeouts, on 9/3 vs Phi and 9/28 vs StL.

In his Major League debut made 16 relief apps for the Expos...began the season with the White Sox' Class AAA affiliate in Charlotte and made 35 apps there as the Knights' closer before he was traded to Mtl on 7/18...made 14 apps at Class AAA Edmonton before he was promoted on 8/26, when RHP Francis Beltran went on the disabled list...made his Major League debut that night vs LA (1.1ip, 1h, 0r, 0bb, 1k) and spent the rest of the season with the Expos... worked at least 1.0 inning in 13 of his 16 apps and at least 2.0 innings 5 times...issued just 5 walks in 21.0 innings...6 of the 15 runs he allowed were unearned... on 9/4 vs Atl, in his best appearance of the season, scattered 4 hits in 3.0 scoreless innings...in the 6-3 victory on 10/2 at NYM threw a scoreless ninth inning for his first Major League save...was the last win in the 36-year history of the Montreal Expos...following the season pitched for Carolina in the Puerto Rican Winter League.

In his first season at Class AAA, for Charlotte averaged 8.9 strikeouts per 9 innings while limiting opponents to a .231 batting average...LH batters hit just .210...posted an ERAs of 8.00 through 6/4 and 1.58 thereafter...6 times struck out at least 4 batters, including a season-high 5k on 6/10 at Ottawa...recorded at least 1 strikeout in each of his last 11 apps and in 18 of his last 20 apps...18 times threw at least 2.0 innings... made his only start on 6/21 at Buffalo in the nightcap of a doubleheader...pitched for Peoria in the Arizona Fall League (19ip, 11k).
