Began the year with Triple-A Gwinnett before earning a promotion for his second Major League stint in as many years on 4/17, appearing in his first game on 4/18 for the Braves at PIT...Returned to Gwinnett on 5/22 where he saw action in two games before landing on Gwinnett's disabled list with right elbow inflammation. • Appeared in three games for the GCL Braves as part of a rehabilitation assignment from 7/13-18 (6.0 IP, 0 ER, 1 BB, 9 K)...Finished the season with Gwinnett by appearing in four games (three starts) from 7/23-8/8 going 1-0 with a 4.08 ERA with one walk and six strikeouts.

2008

Rookie made the jump from Double-A Mississippi to Triple-A Richmond to the majors, appearing in 28 minor league games (26 starts) and making five Major League starts. ...Started his Major League career with 14.1 consecutive scoreless innings pitched, becoming the first Braves pitcher to start his career with at least 14.1 shutout innings since Larry McWilliams (14.1 IP) in 1978. He is also the first Brave since McWilliams to throw at least six shutout innings in each of his first two starts (which were his first two National League appearances). ...Won his Major League debut, a 2-0 victory vs. WSH on 9/4. Parr held the Nationals scoreless while striking out three in 6.0 IP. ...Had his contract purchased on 9/2 from Richmond (AAA) where he was 5-3 with a 3.23 ERA in 10 games (nine starts). He began the year at Mississippi (AA) and went 8-4 with a 3.69 ERA in 18 games (17 starts) before being promoted on 7/16. ...Was named International League Pitcher of the Week for the week ending 8/24. He went 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA (12.0 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 9 K) for the week, one of the games being in "relief" when RHP Manny Acosta started the game as part of a rehabilitation assignment. ...Combined this season in the minor leagues, he was 13-7 with a 3.52 ERA in 28 games (26 starts) with 51 BB and 125 Ks. ...Went 3-0 with a 0.96 ERA (18.2 IP/2 ER) in his last three Richmond starts beginning 8/12 at Charlotte. ...Lasted a career-low 1.2 innings in the no-decision to NYM (W, 4-2) on 9/21, allowing four runs and walking a career-high four batters. He walked three in the first inning and one in the second before giving up a two-run HR to David Wright falling behind 4-0 in just 1.2 IP. ...Took a ND in Atlanta's 8-7 defeat to PHI on 9/16. Parr allowed three earned runs on 10 hits, including two home runs, through 4.1 innings and exited trailing 4-3. Atlanta's offense plated fours runs in the sixth, however the bullpen failed to hold the lead allowing two runs in the seventh and eighth innings. ...Pitched 6.0 shutout innings against COL on 9/10 only to receive a ND when the bullpen allowed four runs in the seventh inning to tie the game. He did not walk a batter and struck out five. ...Made Triple-A debut with spot start vs. Charlotte 6/17. Returned to Mississippi 6/18. Promoted back to Richmond 7/17. ...After returning to M-Braves from Richmond made four starts and allowed three earned runs in 25.0 innings (4-0 1.08). Allowed only four hits in his last 18 innings at Mississippi. ...At Richmond, he went 1-2 with a 5.40 ERA at home (four games, three starts) but went 4-1 with a 2.02 ERA in six road starts. ...Also at Richmond, he held left-handed hitters to a .268 avg. (33-for-123, 1 HR) and right-handed hitters to a .184 avg. (16-for-87, 3 HR). RISP hit just .180 (9-for-50). ...At Mississippi, lefties hit .217 (39-for-180) with three HR and righties hit .277 (48-for-173) with six HR.
