Champion Colorado Rockies...Was the third base coach for the gold medal-winning Team USA in the 2009 World Cup...Participated in the 2012 and 2013 Cubs Caravans. **Managerial and coaching Career** Jamie enters 2013 with 18 years experience as a major league coach since his first coaching job with Kansas City in 1994...Before joining the Cubs, was Houston's bullpen coach at the major league level in 2010-11...Prior to joining the Astros staff, was a professional scout in 2009 and served as third base coach for Team USA in the 2009 World Cup in Europe - Team USA captured the gold medal...Prior to 2009, served as major league bench coach for Colorado for six seasons (2003-08), all under manager Clint Hurdle ... while with the Rockies, filled in for Hurdle as manager for a total of eight games...Served as the Texas Rangers major league bullpen coach in 2002...Began his major league coaching career in 1994, serving as bullpen coach for Kansas City ... after two seasons as bullpen coach, became the Royals bench coach, a position he held for five seasons (1996- 2001)...Served as Royals manager for eight games in 1998, guiding the club to a 4-4 record while filling in for suspended manager Tony Muser. **Playing Career** Jamie played 18 big league seasons with Kansas City (1975-76, 78-82, 85-88), Milwaukee (1977), St. Louis (1983), the White Sox (1984), Cleveland (1984), the Yankees (1989), Oakland (1989, 90-92) and Baltimore (1989)...All told, batted .240 (544-for-2,266) with 100 doubles, 43 homers and 247 RBI in 984 major league games, 525 of those as a catcher...Was a member of the 1980 American League Champion Kansas City Royals, the 1985 World Champion Royals and the 1990 A.L. Champion Oakland A's...Primarily a catcher, he also played defensively at third base, first base, left field, shortstop, right field and second base ... retired in 1992...Selected by Kansas City in the first round (18th overall) of the 1972 June Draft.
