Graduated from Kelowna Secondary School in British Columbia...Played college baseball at Connors State Community College in Warner, Okla. and then transferred to Old Dominion University...Was teammates with Royals first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino at Old Dominion...Resides in Prince George, British Columbia.

2023

Played for Team Canada in the World Baseball Classic. Started four games at first base, left field and designated hitter. Batted .143 with a home run (vs. USA) and three walks (vs. Great Britain)...Started the season in Iowa (AAA) and played in 90 games. Posted career-high numbers with 21 home runs, a .310 batting average and 50 walks...Matched his single-season high with seven stolen bases...Was one of four Iowa Cubs with 20 HR and 70 RBI on the squad...Was selected to Chicago on June 27 and hit safely in each of his first three games (6/28-30) with an RBI in each including his first Major League home run, coming off Aaron Nola vs. PHI (6/28) in his 2023 debut...Tripled in consecutive games, one vs. PHI (6/29) and again vs. CLE (6/30). Was one of 19 players in MLB in 2023 with a triple in consecutive games and one of three Cubs teammates (Nico Hoerner and Ian Happ)...Was optioned and recalled twice to finish the season...Had three multi-home run games in Iowa (vs. Louisville 4/27, vs. Indianapolis 6/13 and at Toledo 8/30)...Hit a grand slam at Toledo (8/30) off Braden Bristo as part of a season-high six RBI game...Homered in consecutive innings as he hit a two-run home run in the first inning and the slam in the second inning. 

2022

Jared made his Major League debut with the Cubs in 2022, going 5-for-19 (.263) with two doubles in six games with the Cubs... Spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Iowa, playing in a team-high 109 games... Ranked third on the I-Cubs in home runs (17) and RBI (59)...Saw time at first base (42 games), third base (41 games), left field (20 games), second base (six games), right field (four games) and designated hitter (four games)...Hit 14 of his 17 home runs vs. right-handed pitching...Went 3-for-5 with two home runs and four RBI on April 19 at Louisville... Batted .298 (28-for-94) with seven doubles, one triple, four home runs and 12 RBI in 25 games in May... Had his contract selected on Sept. 14 and made his Major League debut Sept. 16 vs. Colorado, going 1-for-4 with a double... Was optioned back to Iowa on Sept. 27... Hit a walk-off, two-run home run during the I-Cubs final game of the season, Sept. 28 vs. Toledo.
