Started the season with Triple-A Rochester... Optioned to Triple-A Rochester, March 27... Made four appearances for the Red Wings and was recalled by Minnesota, April 18... TWINS DEBUT: Made his first appearance, April 18 at Baltimore, pitching 1.1 scoreless inning of relief, his first appearance in the Majors since September 29, 2007 vs. New York (AL) as a member of the Orioles... Appeared in 10 games for the Twins before being optioned back to Rochester, May 15... Made four scoreless appearances (5.0 IP) for the Red Wings and was recalled, May 27... Suffered the loss in his first appearance back with Minnesota as he allowed two runs in 1.0 inning, May 27 vs. Los Angeles (AL)... Earned his first victory of the season and first since 2007 vs. Toronto (with Baltimore), tossing 0.2 scoreless innings, June 9 vs. Texas.... Optioned back to Rochester, June 23... Began the season with Double-A Bowie, posting a 1.35 (13.1 ip, 2 er) in nine June appearances...Promoted to Triple-A Norfolk, July 16...allowed just two earned runs in his first nine appearances (10.0 ip)...Struck out all five batters he faced, August 20 vs. Durham...Did not allow a run in 13 of his 18 appearances at Norfolk and 17 of his 24 appearances at Bowie...Combined to go 6-0, 3.25 (52.2 ip, 19 er) with 70 strikeouts, 34 walks and an opponents-batting-average of .196 (37-for-189) in 42 appearances between both levels...Held lefties to a .143 (5-for-35) batting average and righties to a .158 (6-for-38) average while at Norfolk...Acquired from the Baltimore Orioles, along with pitcher Brett Jacobson, in exchange for infielders J.J. Hardy, Brendan Harris and cash, December 9.

Spent the season with Double-A Bowie, making 36 appearances...recorded multiple strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances, June 21-July 12...recorded his first win of the season, July 3 vs. Akron, tossing 2.0 scoreless innings...did not allow a home run in 15 consecutive appearances (21.0 ip), May 2-July 18...went 2-2, 3.00 (30.0 ip, 10 er) with 36 strikeouts in 20 games Pre-All-Star break.

Did not pitch due to right shoulder inflammation...placed on the 60-day disabled list, August 5.

Began the season at AA Bowie before being promoted to AAA Norfolk on June 1...Did not allow a run in 18.2 innings of work & recorded 14 saves in 20 games for Bowie, holding batters to a .200 (13-65) average (4BB, 28K)...Was 2-0 with 2 saves & a 1.33 ERA in 20 games for Norfolk, holding opponents to a .161 (15-93) average with 41 strikeouts in 27.0 IP...Allowed just one earned run while striking out 32 in his last 22.1 innings for the Tides...Pitched 16.0 consecutive scoreless innings, June 12-July 19...Was first recalled by the Orioles on June 16 & allowed 3 runs in 0.2 IP that day vs. Arizona in his only appearance before being optioned back to Norfolk on June 19...Rejoined the Orioles on August 9 and did not allow a run in his first 6 outings (6.1IP)...Earned his first ML win with 1.1 scoreless innings of relief on August 10 vs. Boston...Gave up 14 ER in 4.1 IP over 5 outings, August 22 through September 3...Took the loss in three of those appearances, August 22, 24 & 28...Allowed a season-high five runs on August 28 vs. Tampa Bay...Earned wins in back-to-back appearances September 22 at Texas and September 27 vs. Toronto...Pitched to a 2.19 ERA over his final 11 outings, allowing only 3 ER in 12.1 innings of work.

Was named winner of the Jim Palmer Prize as the top pitcher in the Orioles farm system after beginning the season at Class A Delmarva and advancing to Class A Frederick and AA Bowie before joining the Orioles...Contract was purchased from Bowie on August 23...Appeared in 12 games before being shut down in mid-September with right shoulder soreness...Faced two batters in his major league debut on August 23, recording a walk and a strikeout vs. Minnesota...Pitched a major league high 2.0 innings on August 27 vs. Tampa Bay, allowing a solo home run...After allowing a run in his next appearance on August 29 at Texas, worked 3.0 scoreless innings, allowing one hit in 3 outings, September 1-4...Allowed runs in 3 of his last 6 outings (4.0IP, 9ER) starting on September 6, when he allowed 2 runs in 0.1 IP at Los Angeles...Suffered his only blown save and his only loss on September 11 vs. New York, 9-6...Was charged with 6 runs on 4 hits, a walk and 2 hit batters in 0.2 IP...Made his last appearance on September 18 at Tampa Bay, working a scoreless inning...Was sidelined with a sore right shoulder after that outing...Combined to go 2-1 with 33 saves and a 2.28 ERA in 49 games between the 3 minor league teams (51.1IP, 39H, 16R/13ER, 18BB, 73K)...Led all Orioles farmhands and was 4th among all minor leaguers with 33 saves...Overall, made 61 appearances during the season after having pitched in 22 games in his 3 previous pro seasons combined...Led Delmarva with 18 saves before joining Frederick on June 21...Allowed 3 hits and struck out 12 of 20 batters faced over his final 5 games for the Shorebirds, recording 4 saves...With Frederick, allowed his only earned run in his first appearance on June 21 vs. Winston- Salem...Registered 11 saves in his final 13 outings for the Keys...Was transferred to Bowie on August 1 and struck out 2 or more batters in 4 of his 8 appearances with the Baysox...Opponents hit .175 (17-97) off him at Delmarva, .228 (13-57) at Frederick and .243 (9-37) at Bowie...Lefties batted a combined .145 (10-69).

Spent the season at Class AAberdeen, missing over 6 weeks after recovering from elbow surgery the previous season...Took the loss in the season opener on 6/21 vs. Hudson Valley, allowing 6 runs (4 earned) without recording an out...Was placed on the disabled list and did not appear in another game until 8/14...Surrendered one run or less in 7 of his 8 outings after his return...Earned the win on 8/28 vs. Williamsport, pitching 2.2 scoreless innings...Worked a season-high 3.0 shutout innings on 9/3 at Staten Island.
2004
Made only 2 appearances before being sidelined with a sprained ligament in his right elbow...Took the loss in his final start of the year on 6/24 vs. Jamestown, allowing 6 runs in 2.0 innings...Underwent ligament replacement ("Tommy John") surgery on 7/20.
