Spent nearly the entire season with Triple-A Sacramento with the exception of a brief stint with Oakland from August 27 to 30 when he did not pitch ... returned to Oakland on September 11 when the River Cats season ended and made his major league debut on September 15 at Tampa Bay ... entered the game in the ninth inning with the A's leading 17-3 and retired the side in order ... that was his only appearance with the A's ... spent the balance of the season at Sacramento where he was 8-4 with a save and 3.44 ERA in 20 appearances, 18 starts ... tied for the River Cats team lead in wins and starts and was second with 107 ... 1 innings pitched ... allowed just one unearned run on one hit to win his first start of the season on April 9 at Fresno ... posted a 2.55 ERA without a decision in four May outings, three starts, and was 3-3 with a save and a 3.52 ERA (25 er 64.0 ip) through July 4 ... then had two straight no decisions he won each of his next five starts from July 31 to August 20 (31.1 ip, 25 h, 7 r, 6 er, 11 bb, 19 so, 1.72 ERA) ... started the streak with seven shutout innings of three hit ball at Edmonton ... longest outing of the year was 8.0 innings at Edmonton on June 29 when he struck out a season high nine ... allowed three runs or fewer in 15 of his 18 starts ... walked two batters or fewer in 14 of his starts ... did not allow a home run over his last eight starts (43.1 innings) ... allowed a .254 (102 for 402) opponents batting average which broke down to .225 (31 for 138) against left handers and .269 (71 for 264) against right handers ... opponents hit .229 (19 for 83) with runners in scoring position, including .152 (5 for 33) with RISP and two outs ... fared better at Sacramento's home park, Raley Field, where he was 6-2 with a 2.67 ERA in 11 games, nine starts, compared to 2-3 with a 4.32 ERA in nine starts on the road ... made two post-season starts for Sacramento and was 0-1 with a 12.00 ERA (6.0 ip, 7 h, 9 r, 8 er, 7 bb, 9 so).
