Drafted by Kansas City in the seventh round of the 2002 June Draft...attended Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., where he earned Pitcher of the Year honors in the New England Small College Athletic Conference in 2002.
2010
Released by Toronto after spring training and signed with Houston...assigned to Triple-A Round Rock where he posted a 2.93 ERA (40-IP, 12-ER) in 26 apps before the All-Star break...went 0-1 with a 4.62 ERA (25.1-IP, 13-ER) in 17 apps after the break.
2009
Did not make the Blue Jays roster out of spring training and was sent to Triple-A Las Vegas...on July 28, asked for and was granted his release from Toronto so that he could sign with the Saitama Seibu Lions of the Japanese Pacific League...made 19 relief apps for the Lions and re-signed with Toronto the following spring.
2008
Designated for assignment by the Pirates during spring training and outrighted to Indianapolis...traded to Toronto on June 19.
2007
Began season with Pittsburgh, his first appearance on an Opening Day roster in the big leagues...Did not allow a run in his first nine appearances (7.2ip) while holding opposing hitters to a .154 batting average (4-for-26)...Threw one pitch and picked up the win in second outing on 4/3 at Houston...Was scored upon for the first time and suffered the loss in Pittsburgh's 7-3, 10-inning setback on 4/21 at Los Angeles (NL)...Picked up second win two days later on 4/26 vs. Houston...Suffered first blown save and took the loss on 5/1 vs. Chicago (NL) in completion of suspended game...Whiffed four batters and tossed career-high tying 3.0 innings of scoreless relief in club's 4-3, 15-inning win at Wrigley Field on 5/8...Picked up fourth win in club's 10-inning victory in Cincinnati on 5/25...Posted a 10.13 ERA (16.0ip/18er) in 16 outings during the month of May...Was scored upon in four of his five outings from 6/10-22 (3.0ip/6r) and was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on 6/24...Was charged with a blown save but picked up the win on 7/1 vs. Richmond...Suffered losses in back-to-back appearances on 7/16 and 7/18...Won games on 7/20 vs. Durham and 7/25 at Columbus...Was recalled by Pittsburgh on 7/29...Made final appearance with Pirates on 8/3 vs. Cincinnati and allowed six runs (three homers) in 3.0 innings of work...Was optioned back to Triple-A on 8/4...Made five outings with Indy to end the season (6.1ip/6er)...Gave up five runs in 0.2ip on 8/9 at Louisville...Went 0-for-3 in save situations with Indianapolis...Allowed five of his 27 inherited runners to score while pitching with Pittsburgh.
