2008

Split the season between AAA Buffalo, Cleveland and the disabled list...Began the year at Buffalo where was hitting .255 (66-259) with 16 2B, 1 3B, 5HR & 21 RBI in 62 games with the Bisons before being recalled to Cleveland on June 9 when Asdrubal Cabrera was sent out...Appeared in 2 games on June 9-10 before injuring his left middle finger on a check swing during at bat on June 10 vs. Minnesota...Was placed on the 15-day disabled list on June 12 (retro to 6/11) and eventually had surgery on June 17 reconstruct a tendon in his left hand/middle finger...Surgery was conducted in Baltimore, MD by Dr. Tom Graham...Began a 20-day rehab assignment on August 14 in Akron and it was later transferred to Buffalo on August 18...Spent the remainder of the minor league season w/the Bisons and was activated off the DL on September 2...Overall with the Tribe he appeared in 12 games, making 8 starts at second base (9G at 2B)...Upon his activation from the DL he was 6 for 27 (.222) w/2RBI in 9 games in September...Hit safely in the final 4 games of the season...At Buffalo he hit .252 (53-210) w/3HR & 15RBI and .247 (22-89) off LHP w/2HR & 8RBI...Best month was May where he hit .281 (34-121) w/11 2B & 8RBI in 29 games...Overall OPS at Buffalo was .659 (.292 OB%, .368SLG%)...Overall was 9 for 44 (.204) on his rehab assignment to Akron and Buffalo (13G)...Was 4 for 5 w/a 2B & 2RBI on opening day, April 3, at Norfolk...At Buffalo he hit .320 (33-103) w/ runners on base and .228 (13-57) with RISP...On the year he compiled a .984 (6E, 367TC) fielding % at Buffalo in 71 games at second base...Spent off-season training near the Goodyear Complex in Arizona.

2007

Spent first season in the American League, his second full season in the big leagues... Had an inconsistent offensive season and did not play much over the last 7 weeks of the season ... Was excellent defensively, compiling a fielding % of .975 (595TC, 15E) in 120 games at second base (115GS) ... Started 7 for 60 (.117) thru 16 games/April 25 before hitting .278 (30-108) in May and .317 (33-104) in June ...Was won of the club's most clutch hitters, hitting .284 (33-116) with RISP and .346 (18-52) with RISP-20uts... Problems resurfaced in the 2nd half as he hit .193 (21-109) with an on-base % of .226 and lost his regular spot in the line-up in Mid-August (had 1 RBI over his last 25 games from July 28-on) ... From August 15 thru the end of the season served mainly as a pinchrunner and made 5 starts at second base with 17 at bats over the last 6 weeks of the season ... Longest hitting streak was 9 games from May 18-26 ... Had an Indians season-high 2 triples on May 12 at Oakland ... Did not homer from May 26 thru August 9 (238AB) ...Was 7 for his last 43 from August 4th on.

2006

2003

Was named San Diego's Co-Minor League Player of the Year along with Jon Knott after leading the Midwest League with 164 hits and 536 at-bats, and ranking sixth with a .306 batting average...led Single-A Fort Wayne in average, total bases (216), runs scored (73) and games (129)...started the season with hits in 11 of his fi rst 12 games, going 20- for-51 (.392), April 4-16...named Northwest League Player of the Week for June 17-23...went 4-for-4 with his fi rst career grand slam and fi ve RBI June 23 vs. Peoria...that game highlighted a season-best 11-game hitting streak, during which he went 25-for-48 (.521)...was hitless in his next two games, then hit safely in 17 of his next 18 affairs, June 29-July 17...went 5-for-5 August 25 vs. Michigan before being promoted to Single-A Lake Elsinore the following day...drove in four runs in just six games with the Storm.

Named the No. 3 prospect in the Pioneer League and 12th-best in the Padres' chain by Baseball America following his professional debut at Rookie-Level Idaho Falls...led the Pioneer League Padres in average (.310), hits (86), RBI (53), total bases (121), runs scored (51), sac fl ies (4), at-bats (277) and games (66)...hit safely in 10 consecutive games (16-for-44) from July 16-25 and went on to reach base safely in 20 straight, July 16-August 10...during that stretch, drove in 17 runs in 19 games July 17-August 8...finished the season on a 15-game hitting streak August 17-September 2, batting .343 (23-for-67) with 20 RBI.
