Made first start for Triple-A Rochester, April 7 at Norwich, pitching 5.2 shutout innings, allowing just five hits and striking out five while earning the victory...went 2-1 with a 1.16 ERA (23.1 ip, 3 er) in his first four starts, including a nine-strikeout performance, April 17 vs. Richmond...lost five straight from April 28-May 18...allowed three runs on five hits in 7.0 innings and tied a season-high with nine strikeouts, May 29 vs. Charlotte...won four straight from August 8-19...gave up one run (zero earned) on three hits in 6.0 innings, August 19 at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre while walking a season-high five batters...posted five consecutive quality starts from July 29-August 19...struck out seven-or-more batters in six starts and five-or-more in 13 starts...was 4-1, 3.64 (54.1 ip, 22 er) in nine starts after the All-Star break...led the Red Wings in starts (27), innings pitched (148.0) and strikeouts (121)...his 148.0 innings were ninth in the organization and third among Twins minor leaguers, while his 27 starts were first among all Twins minor leaguers...ranked 12th best prospect in the International League by Baseball America...ranked eighth best prospect in the Twins' organization by Baseball America entering the 2009 season.

Signed by the Mets on Aug 9...Made three starts for Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League...In his professional debut at home against Erie on Aug. 24, he worked 3.0 innings with two hits, two runs, earned, two walks and four strikeouts...In his last two games, against Portland on Aug. 24 and against Connecticut on Sept. 4 he worked 10.1 innings, giving up eight hits, two runs, unearned, with three walks and six strikeouts...Was 0-2 in five starts for the Mesa Solar Sox in the the Arizona Fall League...In 15.0 innings, he allowed 17 hits, 12 runs, 10 earned, with eight walks and seven strikeouts.
