Resides in Murphy, TX during the off-season...Garnered All-Mountain West Conference honors as a freshman at the University of New Mexico in 2002 after batting .385 (82x213) with four doubles, three triples, a home run, 24 RBI and 17 stolen bases...Batted .327 (72x220) with 14 doubles, two triples, a home run, 23 RBI and 10 stolen bases during his sophomore season at the University of Mexico in 2003...Earned All-Mountain West Conference honors as a junior at the University of New Mexico in 2004 after hitting .381 (88x231) with 10 doubles, 12 triples, three home runs, 50 RBI and 16 stolen bases.

Saw his first major league action after making the Opening Day roster of the Atlanta Braves out of Spring Training for the first time in his career in 2011...Made his major league debut on April 3 at Washington, entering the game as a pinch-runner...Collected his first major league hit on April 7 at Milwaukee, a single in the ninth inning off John Axford...Optioned to Triple A Gwinnett by Atlanta on April 22...Compiled a nine-game hitting streak May 29-June 20 with Gwinnett, batting .395 (15x38)...Recalled from Gwinnett by Atlanta on June 1 -- batted .276 (8x29) in 11 games with Atlanta before he was optioned back to Gwinnett for the remainder of the season on June 15...Hit .362 (17x47) in 12 games during June with Gwinnett...Had his contract designated for assignment by Atlanta on September 24 -- his contract was outrighted by Atlanta to Gwinnett on September 28...Saw action in 30 games with Navojoa in the Mexican Winter League following the season, batting .254 (30x118) with two doubles, a home run and eight RBI.

Spent the entire 2010 season with Gwinnett (AAA), playing in 134 games split between LF (76), CF (31), 2B (27), RF (2), and DH (2). ... Led the entire Braves organization in runs scored (88) and stolen bases (39). ... Ranked among the top 10 in several offensive categories, including average (4th, .300), hits (2nd, 146), doubles (4th, 33) and OPS (8th, .787). ... Was named Gwinnett's Player of the Month for June (.382 avg, 6 2B, 2 3B, .923 OPS). ... Garnered two International League Player of the Week honors (6/28, 8/23). ... Named Mississippi's (AA) Player of the Year for second consecutive season...Opened the season with MS and earned an end-of-the season promotion to Class AAA Gwinett on 9/1. Hit a combined .284 (138-for-486) with 23 doubles, 10 triples, five home runs, 36 RBI and 43 stolen bases...His 42 stolen bases with MS were tops in the Southern League and his 43 combined stolen bases led Braves minor leaguers. Led the organization with 87 runs and was second in SL with 81...Stolen bases by month: April (9), May (2), June (13), July (3), August (15) and September (1)...Tied for the organization lead and placed second in SL with 10 triples...His .284 batting average was ninth-best among Braves minor leaguers and his .825 OPS ranked sixth...Ranked third among organizational farmhands and was sixth in the SL with 138 and 133 hits, respectively...Walked a MS-best 94 times and his 97 total free passes ranked fifth among all minor leaguers...Named to the SL All-Star team. Also, following the season, was rated as the SL "Best Hustler."...Won organizational Player of the Month honors in June when he led the team with a .324 average, 33 hits, eight doubles, 24 walks and 13 stolen bases...Had two, three-steal games, setting a career high 6/6 at MOB and 8/30 vs. WTN...Matched his career high with four hits, 6/18 at CHA...Reached base safely via hit, walk or hit-by-pitch in 39 of 43 games, from 4/15-5/30...In 66 games with the Mayos de Navojoa of the Mexican Winter League, hit .315 (76-for-241) with 18 doubles, four triples, eight home runs and 32 RBI. Recipient of the "Bill Lucas Award", given to the minor league player who best represents the Braves both on and off the field...Named the Mississippi Player of the Year after leading the organization and the MBraves and ranking tied for first in the Southern League with 11 triples...His 30 stolen bases ranked fifth in the SL, second in the organization and first on the MS club...Led MS with 142 hits (seventh in the organization), 135 games played and 74 runs scored (seventh in organization)...Was a member of the SL All-Star team...Hit .111 with two runs scored and three RBI in the five-game Southern League Championship Series...Set a SL record by recording a hit in 11 consecutive at-bats 7/24-27...Named Mississippi's July Player of the Month (.317, 5 2B, 3 3B, 15 RBI)...Named the SL Player of the Week, week ending 7/27 (.538, 2 3B, 5 RBI, 4 SB)...Enjoyed a 14-game hitting streak, 4/27-5/11 (.422, 3 3B, 12 RBI)...Hit .370 (40-for-108) with 10 doubles, three triples, one home run and 24 RBI in 29 games for the Mesa Solar Sox of the Arizona Fall League.

Opened the season with Myrtle Beach (A) and was promoted to Mississippi (AA) on 7/20...Spent one month on the disabled list, 4/17-5/18...Played all outfield positions (77) and at second base (10)...Hit .375 (15- for-40) over a 10-game hitting streak, 7/5-18.

Led Braves' system with 31 doubles (tied) third with 130 hits, sixth with 68 runs scored and seventh with 58 RBI and 22 SB...Hit .328 (36-for-111) in July with nine doubles and 11 RBI...Walked a team-leading 71 times...Promoted to Mississippi on 8/20.
