Spent time with Class AA Birmingham, Class AAA Charlotte and the White Sox…his contract was purchased by Chicago on 9/3…appeared in five games with the Sox and made one start…baserunners were 2-2 in stolen base attempts…Sox pitchers owned a 3.50 ERA (7 ER/18.0 IP) when he was behind the plate…made his major-league debut on 9/10 vs. Detroit (0-1)…recorded his first hit on 9/12 vs. Cleveland, a single off Josh Tomlin…made his only start on 9/28 vs. Kansas City, going 1-4…combined to hit .254 (43-169) with two home runs and 20 RBI in 53 games between Birmingham and Charlotte…threw out 37.0 percent (20-54) of attempted basestealers…began the season with the Barons and hit .323 (21-65) in his first 20 games…hit a game-winning grand slam on 4/29 at Montgomery…was promoted to the Knights on 7/4, returned to Birmingham on 7/9 and sent back to Charlotte on 7/22…batted .324 (11-34) in his last 11 games with the Knights before his promotion to the Sox.

one game with La Guaira of the Venezuelan Winter League.

Enters the season ranked by Baseball America as the No. 10 Prospect in the White Sox organization...also named by the same publication as the best defensive catcher among Sox farmhands.

2009

Combined to hit .302 (49-162) with 15 doubles, four home runs and 20 r Bi between advanced rookie Bristol and Class-AAA Charlotte...threw out 34.9 (22-63) percent of attempted basestealers, second-best in the Appalachian League...began the season with Bristol...posted a 10-game hitting streak (.500, 17-34) before being promoted to the Knights on 9/1.
