**PERSONAL:** Peter Brian Walker... Married with three children... Earned letters in baseball and basketball at East Lyme (CT) High School... Graduated in 1987... Went to the University of Connecticut from 1988-1990 and helped the Huskies capture the Big East Championship in 1990. **PROFESSIONAL CAREER:** Selected in the 7th round by the New York Mets in 1990...Played eight seasons in the Major Leagues, the last four with the Toronto Blue Jays...124 of his 144 games, and all 31 starts came as a Blue Jay, posting a career 20-14 record with a 4.48 ERA...In his best season made 20 of his 31 career starts in 2002 with Toronto, posting a 10-5 record with 4.33 ERA. **COACHING CAREER:** Began his coaching career with the Blue Jays organization in 2009, working with the clubs' rehabbing pitchers...Was named the Pitching Coach at New Hampshire for 2011 and led a squad that won the Eastern League Championship...Made his debut at the Major League level in 2012 as the Blue Jays Bullpen Coach...Assumes the role of Pitching Coach in 2013.

Ranked 5th on the team with a .254 opponents batting average... Was the 7th out of nine pitchers to start for the Blue Jays this season... Was the first out of five Blue Jays to pitch as a starter and reliever (Bush, Downs, Gaudin, McGowan)... AS A STARTER: Was 1-2 with a 5.23 ERA... The Blue Jays were 1-3 when he started... Pitched into the 6th inning in three of his four starts... Had one quality start (July 17 vs. TB)... Allowed 2ER or less in two of his four starts... June 22 vs. BAL made his first ML start since Sept. 25, 2003 vs. TB... Won 3-2... W, 5.1IP, 5H, 2ER, HR, 3K... Threw 75 pitches, 49 strikes... Was his 1st win as a starter since Sept. 27, 2002 vs. DET... Lost his 2nd start of the season 4-3 on June 27 at TB... L, 6.0IP, 7H, 4ER, 2HR, 3BB... Was his 1st ML loss since Sept. 4, 2003 vs. NYY... Was the first time he allowed more than one HR in a game since April 27, 2003 vs. KC... July 17 vs. TB, received a no decision in a 5-4 loss... 6.0IP, 6H, ER, HR, 2K... Was his only quality start of the season... Was his 2nd start allowing 2ER or less... AS A RELIEVER: Was 5-4 with two saves and a 2.98 ERA... Five relief wins were tied for the team lead (with Batista)... Ranked 2nd on the team in reliever ERA... Did not allow a run from May 14 through June 17, a span of eight games and 18.1IP innings (longest streak by a Blue Jays reliever in 2005 and longest of his career)... Allowed just seven earned runs on the road (32.0IP)... Worked 2.0IP or more in 16 of his 37 appearances... Worked 3.0 innings or more in six of his 37 appearances (18.2IP and surrendered just one run in those games)... April 20 vs. NYY issued four walks (career high in a relief appearance)... May 14 at CLE, threw 3.2IP, matching the longest relief outing by a Blue Jay in 2005... May 20 vs. WAS recorded his first save of the season... May 26 vs. BOS recorded 2nd save of the season (3rd career) in as many appearances... Both saves were of 3.0 innings... Were the team's only two 3.0IP saves of the season...WHAT THE HITTERS THOUGHT: Opponents batted .254... As a starter, opponents batted .265... As a reliever, opponents batted .250... LH and RH hitters both batted .254... At Rogers Centre opponents batted .256. On the road they hit .252... Surrendered 10 home runs, seven to RH hitters.

Was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on January 7... Was invited to Spring Training by Toronto as a non-roster invitee... Was sent to the Yokohama BayStars of the Japanese League in exchange for cash on Feb. 26... IN JAPAN: Appeared in 10 games (all starts) while posting a record of 2-4 with a ERA of 6.80... Opponents batted at a .330 clip... AT THE PLATE: Batted .167 (2-12), both singles, with two runs scored in 16 plate appearances... Had an on base percentage of .231... ON THE DL: Was placed on the disabled list (vertebra) on July 25 through the remainder of the season... Underwent successful surgery on his vertebra on July 26.
