2020

Spent majority of the season with the Royals, playing 36 games, including starts at first base (9), in left field (2) and as the designated hitter (8)...Set the franchise career record with three pinch hit home runs—all within a 19-day span (Aug. 11-29)—passing 13 other players who each had two pinch-hit homers, including Steve Balboni and Carmelo Martinez, who both hit two in one season, 1987 and 1991, respectively...Hit three of the 21 pinch-hit homers (14.3 percent) in the Majors in 2020, and was the only player with more than one…became the first American League player to hit three or more pinch-hit homers since Chicago’s Daniel Palka hit four in 2018, and was the first American League player to hit three pinch-hit homers in one calendar month, according to Sportradar, since Boston’s Del Wilber (4) in May 1953...His five pinch hits (5-for-15) were the most in a single season by a Royal since Brayan Peña went 5-for-19 (.263) as a pinch hitter in 2009...Slashed .333/.368/.611 (12-for-36) with three homers and seven RBI on the road, compared to .178/.213/.422 (8- for-45) with three solo homers at home...In 20 games during the month of August, he slashed .350/.395/.700 (14-for-40), but went just 2-for-24 (.083) in 10 games in September...Went 7-for-17 (.412) with two homers and five RBI in Interleague play, which included hitting in each of his first six games vs. NL opponents...Hit his first career home run on July 31, a solo shot off Dallas Keuchel, his first of four (out of 6) HR vs. left handers... Recorded his first pinch-hit homer on Aug. 11 at Cincinnati, a game-tying two-run shot in the eighth inning off Amir Garrett…it marked the Royals’ first pinch-hit homer since Cheslor Cuthbert hit a two-run shot in the ninth at Target Field on Sept. 21, 2019 (17 games in between)...He had a go-ahead RBI single in the eighth inning on Aug. 25, and had a go-ahead, pinch-hit home run in the eighth inning on the following day, Aug. 26, both in St. Louis…according to Elias, he became the fourth Royal (5th time) to record a go-ahead RBI hit in the eighth or later in consecutive games, and first since Jeff Conine (July 12-13) in 1992...Optioned to the alternate training site on Sept. 12, after a 1-for-20 stretch, and was recalled on Sept. 25 to start the final two games of the year...Homered in the season finale to snap a 0-for-16 skid and mark his third go-ahead home run of the year.

2019

Acquired by the Royals on Aug. 31 from the New York Yankees for cash considerations or a player to be named and International slot money ... Selected from Omaha (AAA) on Sept. 3 and made his big league debut that night vs. Detroit…singled in his first at-bat off Matthew Boyd, becoming the first Royal to record a hit in his first MLB plate appearance since David Lough in 2012 ... Appeared in 23 of KC's final 24 games, batting .293 (22-for- 75) with five doubles, six RBI and eight runs scored…made 12 starts in right field, two in left field and five at first base ... Had a seven-game hitting streak, Sept. 17-25, in which he batted .393 (11-for-28) with three doubles and six runs scored ... Spent the first five months of the season with Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre (AAA), slashing .315/.402/.574 (130-for-413)…led the International League in runs scored (87) and OPS (.976), while ranking second in slugging percentage, third in on-base percentage, fourth in batting average, eighth in hits and 10th in home runs (26) ... Named both a midseason and postseason All-Star in the International League, starting the Triple-A All-Star Game as the designated hitter for the IL ... Following the All-Star break, he batted .326/.448/.591 (43-for-132) with eight doubles, nine homers and 26 RBI in his final 39 games with the RailRiders ... Batted .328 (43-for-131) vs. left-handed pitching and hit .309 (87-for-282) against righties this season…also batted .327 (34-for-104) with runners in scoring position and slashed .333/.429/.603 (42-for-126) with two outs ... Slugged two home runs in a game three times, including most recently on August 29 at Pawtucket, clubbing two home runs and drawing a pair of walks.

2018

Hit .302 (139-for-461) between Trenton (AA) and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (AAA), which ranked second among all Yankees' farmhands and included hitting .295 (106-for-359) in the International League, which ranked fifth among qualifying hitters ... Named an Organization All-Star by MiLB.com following the season ... Played for the Tomateros de Culiacán in the Mexican Winter League, hitting .226 (24-for-106) with five doubles, a triple, a homer and 16 RBI in 28 games.

2017

Acquired by the Yankees on July 23 in exchange for INF/OF Rob Refsnyder…spent the remainder of the season with Trenton ... With New Hampshire (AA), named an Eastern League midseason All-Star.

2016

Led the Florida State League in RBI (83) and ranked second in extra-base hits (48) and total bases (219), third in homers (21) and fourth in slugging percentage (.468), playing with Dunedin (A-Advanced) ... Tabbed a Florida State League midseason and postseason All-Star…also named FSL Player of the Month for August, hitting .348 (31-for-89) with three doubles, a triple, seven homers and 29 RBI in 24 games ... Played in seven games for Mesa in the Arizona Fall League, hitting .250 (7-for-28) with two doubles, two homers and 10 RBI.
