Theodore Lester (T.J.) Beam Jr...He and his wife, Lindsay, have two sons, Trey and Tucker...Is a 1999 graduate of Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, Ariz...Played collegiately at the University of Mississippi and was a four-year letter-winnercnamed First-Team All-SEC as a senior after winning 14 of his 16 decisions.

Appeared in 39 games (13 starts) for Triple-A Las Vegas in his first season in the Blue Jays system...Earned 51s Minor League Star of the Month honors for June...Pitched in relief in 26 of his first 27 games but started his final 12 games.
2008
In his first season in the Pirates system, appeared in a career-high 32 games for Pittsburgh and pitched at Triple-A Indianapolis...For the Pirates, set career highs with 32 games, 45.2 innings pitcher and 24 strikeoutsc righties hit .210 (21-for-100) while lefties batted .310 (22-for-71)...Allowed 7-of-21 inherited runners (33.3%) to score for the Pirates...Tossed 12.1 scoreless innings in 7 straight games from May 2-23 with Indianapolis...Had his contract purchase by the Pirates on June 22 and suffered his first career loss, 8-5, vs. Blue Jays...Optioned to Indianapolis on June 26 but was recalled two days later...Pitched a career-high 4.0 innings on July 26 vs. Padres, retiring the final 12 batters...Recorded his first career save in a 4-1 win on Aug. 19 @ Cardinals...Optioned to Indianapolis on Aug. 23...Recalled by the Pirates on Sept. 2.

Made 29 appearances for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre...Placed on the disabled list on May 4 with a right lateral muscle strain...Reinstated from the disabled list on July 7 after a 4-game rehabilitation assignment with the Gulf Coast League Yankees.
2006
Split time between Double-A Trenton, Triple-A Columbus and the Yankees...made four stints with the Yankees, going 2-0 with an 8.50 ERA in 20 relief appearances...began the season with Double-A Trenton and went 4-0 with a 0.86 ERA and three saves in 18 appearances before being promoted to Triple-A Columbus on 6/4...on 5/16 vs. Portland, tossed 4.0 innings of shutout relief, tying the longest relief outing of his minor-league career (also 7/6/03 w/ Staten Island)...With the Clippers, was 2-0 with a 1.71 ERA in 19 appearances while limiting opposing hitters to a .151 average (16-for-106)...allowed just two runs in his final 15 games (23.2IP)...earned his only save with the Clippers on 6/10 at Syracuse, striking out six batters in 3.0IP...was recalled from Columbus on 6/17 and made his Major League debut that day at Washington, allowing 2R (2ER) in 1.1IP...Earned his first career Major League win on 6/20 at Philadelphia, retiring only batter faced...was optioned back to Columbus on 7/8...was recalled for a second time on 7/24 and pitched in two games before being optioned back to Columbus on 8/1...Made his longest appearance of the season on 7/29 vs. Tampa Bay, allowing 2ER in 2.0IP while striking out a career-high three batters...joined the Yankees' roster for the third time on 8/18...made two appearances before being optioned on 8/20...rejoined the Yankees when the active rosters expanded on 9/1 and made eight additional appearances to close out the season.

Split the season between Single-A Charleston and Single-A Tampa, combining to go 4-4 with a 1.98 ERA and three saves in a minor-league career-high 47 appearances (two starts) ... struck out 105 batters in only 77.0IP and held opposing batters to a .208 average (59-for-283) ... began the season at Charleston and allowed 5ER in 14.2IP over his first five appearances (two starts) ... was made a full-time member of the bullpen and subsequently allowed just 5ER in 30.0IP in his next 19 appearances (1.50 ERA) ... struck out a season-high six batters in 3.0 innings of relief on 6/3 at Rome ... was promoted to Tampa on 6/23 and made 12 appearances out of the bullpen, going 1-1 with one save and a 3.12 ERA ... was transferred back to the RiverDogs on 8/4, and concluded the season there ... in his final 11 appearances of the season from 8/5, posted a 0.60 ERA (15.0IP, 7H, 1ER) ... played for Grand Canyon in the Arizona Fall League and allowed only 3ER in 17.2 IP in 11 relief appearances (1.53 ERA).
2004
Combined to go 4-9 with a 3.25 ERA in 23 games (19 starts) for Single-A Battle Creek and Single-A Staten Island ... began the season with Battle Creek and went 2-5 with a 4.35 ERA in 11 appearances (seven starts) ... struck out a minor-league career-high 10 batters on 4/25 at Western Michigan ... was transferred to Staten Island on 5/26, and in 11 starts there was 2-4 while ranking seventh in the New York Penn League with a 2.57 ERA ... threw his only career complete game on 8/27 at Brooklyn, allowing only 1ER and 5H but receiving the loss ... was transferred back to Battle Creek on 9/1 and made his final start and appearance of the season that day at Dayton, earning the win.
2003
In his first professional season, split time between Single-A Staten Island and Battle Creek ... with Staten Island, was 2-1 with a 2.70 ERA and one save in nine appearances (five starts) ... was transferred to Battle Creek on 8/7 and concluded the season there, going 2-1 with a 5.82 ERA in five starts.
