Trent, selected by Chicago in the 25th round of the 2016 draft, is in his fifth pro season and his second-straight as a non-roster invitee to major league Spring Training ... has hit .250 (370-for-1,480) with 74 doubles, two triples, 56 homers, 181 RBI and 56 stolen bases in 421 games, reaching Triple-A for the first time in 2019 ... Has primarily played at second base (206 games), but has also played at least 15 games at first base, shortstop, third base, left field and right field ... Attended Jones County Junior College (2013-14) in Ellisville, Miss., and Delta State University (2015-16) in Cleveland, Miss. ... graduated from Grace King High School in Metairie, La. ... Earned numerous collegiate awards in 2016, including ABCA/Rawlings Defensive Player of the Year, All-GSC First-Tram and NCBWA All-American Honorable Mention.

2019

Trent spent his first season at the Triple-A level, batting .241 (104-for-431) with 27 doubles, a career-high 23 homers and 66 RBI in 126 games ... his 23 homers led the team ... became the first I-Cub with 20 doubles and 20 homers in a season since Javier Báez in 2014 ... Made at least 13 starts at every position except catcher, pitcher and center field ... made the most starts at second base (40) ... Posted a career-high .464 slugging mark ... Hit an inside-the-park homer, August 1 at Reno. 

2018

Trent spent his first season at the Double-A level, swiping a career-high 26 bases for Tennessee, fourth-most in the Southern League ... hit .251 (100-for-398) with 20 doubles, 17 homers, 49 RBI and 46 walks ... His .333 on-base percentage was 82 points higher than his .251 average ... his 46 free passes ranked fourth on the club ... Posted a .976 fielding percentage in 89 games at second base ... July 5 in Jackson, went 4-for-5 with four runs, a double, three homers and nine RBI ... hit a solo homer in the first inning, a two-run blast in the fifth and a grand slam in the ninth ... that performance helped earn him Southern League Player of the Week honors for July 2-8 ... Was on Tennessee's D.L. with a left hamstring strain, July 30-August 14 ... Walked 19 times compared to just nine strikeouts in his final 21 games starting July 28 ... contributed to a .402 OBP in that span ... Batted .327 (16-for-49) with a .400 OBP in 12 games for Mesa in the Arizona Fall League.

2017

Played in 128 games for Single-A Myrtle Beach, hitting .242 (116-for-480) with 15 doubles, 12 homers and 44 RBI ... played 55 games at second base, 51 contests at shortstop, 13 games in left field and five at third base ... In 26 games from June 2-July 6, batted .357 (35-for-98) with 23 runs scored, four doubles, six homers, 12 RBI and a 1.000 OPS.

2016

In his first pro season, batted .292 (50-for-171) with 12 doubles, four homers and 22 RBI in 51 games for Single-A Eugene ... led the team in batting average, on-base percentage (.404) and OPS (.837) en route in helping the club to the Northwest League title ... Hit .346 (28-for-81) with seven doubles, three homers, 10 RBI, 16 walks (compared to 10 strikeouts) and a 1.002 OPS in his final 24 games from August 10-September 5.
