In 2005 graduated from Crescenta Valley High School in La Crescenta, CA, where as a senior he went 8-3, 1.13 with 113 strikeouts...his grandfather, Bob Bell, spent 25 years on Chicago television as Bozo the Clown.

2013

Joined the organization in May and in 30 relief apps at Class AA Pensacola and Class AAA Louisville went 1-1, 1.80 and led all Reds minor league pitchers with 17 saves (19 chances)...ranked T5th in the International League in saves...was released by the Tigers during spring training...on 5/20 was signed by the Reds to a minor league contract and reported to Pensacola...became a free agent following the season but in December was re-signed to a minor league deal that included an invitation to 2014 Major League spring training camp.

2012

Assigned to Triple A Salt Lake in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organization to begin the 2012 season. ... Sidelined May 9-July 5 with a right elbow sprain. ... Assigned to the Arizona League Angels for an injury rehabilitation assignment on June 20 -- started three games before returning to Salt Lake at the conclusion of his injury rehabilitation assignment on July 4. ... Unconditionally released by the Angels organization on July 26.

2011

Spent three seperate stints with Angels, going 1-1 with a 3.41 ERA (34.1 IP - 13 ER) in 19 appearances...Made 11 appearances (10 starts) with Salt Lake, going 2-5 with a 6.27 ERA (56 IP - 39 ER)...Was recalled from Salt Lake, April 20...Earned the victory, May 4, in 13-inning win at Boston, notching first relief victory since May 10, 2010... Remained with the club until being optioned, July 21...Recalled, August 16, but was sent back to Salt Lake following relief appearance that night...Was recalled Sept. 4 and spent remainder of season with Halos...Registered a 1.32 ERA (13.2 IP - 2 ER) on the road compared to a 4.79 ERA (20.2 IP - 11 ER) at Angel Stadium...Pitched a career-high 4.1 relief innings, Aug. 16 vs. Texas...Was part of a MLB traveling team sent to Taiwan for a five-game series vs. Chinese Taipei at the 2011 All-Star Series in November.

Spent three seperate stints with Angels going 2-5 with a 4.72 ERA (61.0 IP - 32 ER) in 25 appearances (seven starts)...Allowed 77 hits (2 HR) walked 21 batters and struck out 45...Compiled a 4.66 ERA (36.2 IP - 19 ER) as a starter, compared to 4.81 (24.1 IP - 13 ER) as a reliever...Began season at Salt Lake prior to May 10 callup... Went 2-0 with a 3.00 ERA (30 IP - 10 ER) in six starts with Bees...Started seven of final 10 outings with Angels...Posted a 2.95 ERA (18.1 IP - 6 ER) over his final three starts...Struck out a career-high six batters, Sept. 1 at Seattle...Was also first career start without walking a batter...Allowed just two home runs in 61 IP this season...Five of seven starts came on the road.

Began season at Cedar Rapids, registering a 1-0 record with a 2.12 ERA (17 IP - 4 ER) in three games, two starts...Tossed complete game, striking out seven and allowing two runs on five hits, June 24...Spent majority of season at Rancho Cucamonga, posting a 6-8 record with two complete games, one shutout and a 4.22 ERA (100.1 IP - 47 ER) in 36 games, 12 starts...Recorded season-high when he struck out nine batters in six innings, May 29.

2007

Compiled an 8-4 record with a 4.14 ERA (115.1 IP - 53 ER) in 21 starts at Cedar Rapids... Struck out career-high 10 in five innings in win over Wisconsin, July 5.

2006

Posted a 4-2 record with a 3.50 ERA (82.1 IP - 32 ER) in 16 start in first professional season at Orem...Led Pioneer League in innings and starts while finishing eighth in ERA...Earned first professional win in season debut, beating Ogden, June 20 (5 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 SO).
