Ty Andrew Taubenheim (pronounced "TAW-bin-hime")...Wife's name is Anna. ...Couple was expecting first child (boy) in mid-March...Is a 2001 graduate of Lynden (WA) High School, where he played baseball and football...Attended Edmonds Community College in Lynnwood, WA (the same town in which current Hitting Coach Don Long went to high school)...Won back-to-back Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges' championships in 2002 and 2003...Went 8-1 with a 1.54 ERA in 70.0ip and was named an All-NWAACC first-team selection as well as an All- Tournament team pick in 2003.

2007

Went 6-8 with a 5.24 ERA in 24 minor league games (21 starts) with Syracuse (Blue Jays' AAA) and New Hampshire (Blue Jays' AA)...Also made one start for the Blue Jays and received a no-decision vs. Colorado on 6/23...Began season with Syracuse...Tossed 6.0 scoreless innings and picked up first win in second start on 4/14 vs. Ottawa....Surrendered season-high 10 hits and nine runs (3.2ip) in loss to Scranton-WB on 5/5...Made nine straight starts to start the year before making back-to-back relief appearances on 5/31 vs. Norfolk (2.0ip/0r) and 6/3 vs. Columbus (1.2ip/1r)...Returned to starting rotation on 6/9 and tossed a two-hit shutout while striking out season-high eight batters vs. Columbus (game one)...Posted a 3.00 ERA (15.0ip/5er) in three Triple-A games during the month of June...Was recalled by Toronto on 6/20 and made lone start with Blue Jays on 6/23...Was optioned back to Syracuse on 6/28...Received three straight no-decisions before winning final game with Chiefs on 7/19 vs. Rochester...Lost final Triple-A start on 7/24 at Rochester and suffered loss in relief on 7/30 vs. Buffalo...Was assigned to Double-A New Hampshire on 8/8 and lost first start on 8/11 vs. Altoona...Won back-to-back starts on 8/17 and 8/22...Tossed 8.0 scoreless innings and allowed just two hits in victory vs. New Britain on 8/22...Was charged with two earned runs or less in all five starts with New Hampshire...Was claimed off waivers by Pittsburgh on 12/3.
