The Kansas City Royals announced today that right-handed pitcher Louis Coleman has cleared release waivers and is now officially a free agent.  
Coleman, 29, was originally drafted by the Royals in the fifth round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft and has pitched for the Major League club in each of the past five seasons. He's posted a career record of 6-4 with two saves and a 3.20 ERA in 152 appearances at the big league level. He was designated for assignment on January 29.
