Rockies announce non-roster players for 2016 Spring Training

The Colorado Rockies announced today the club's non-roster players for this year's Major League Spring Training. Below is the current list of 22 players, by position.

Of the 22 total non-roster invites, 19 were in the Rockies organization in 2015. The three players joining the Rockies organization in 2016 are Brock Huntzinger from the Oakland Athletics, Brian Schlitter from the Chicago Cubs and Jackson Williams. Williams rejoins the Rockies after appearing in seven games for the club in 2014. He also appeared in seven games with the San Francisco Giants in 2015.
Of the 19 invitees that played in the Rockies organization in 2015, twelve players were originally drafted or signed by Colorado, three players were acquired via trade (Carle, Cuevas and Hoffman) and four were signed as Minor League free agents (Flande, Gurka, Castro and Germen), with all four appearing with the Rockies in 2015.
The list of non-roster invites also includes four players from the Rockies' Top 15 prospects according to MiLB.com: David Dahl, the number three prospect and the Rockies' first round draft pick (10th overall) in the 2012 First-Year Player Draft; Jeff Hoffman, the number four prospect acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays in 2015; Kyle Freeland, the number nine prospect drafted in the first round (eighth overall) of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft; and Dom Nunez, the number 15 prospect drafted by the Rockies in the sixth round of the 2014 First-Year Player Draft.
Pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report Wednesday, Feb. 17. The first full squad workout is Thursday, Feb. 25.
