Nikon and the New York Mets announced today a three-year partnership extension making Nikon the official digital camera of the Mets.
In addition to commandeering the largest static ballpark sign at Citi Field, the expansive partnership includes several interactive ballpark destinations. The primary activation space, located on the field level concourse, offers fans the opportunity to interact with Nikon's latest camera technology and experience exclusive behind the scenes Mets content and imagery. Five scenic areas, designated as 'Nikon Photo Spots', will be located throughout Citi Field providing opportunities for fans to capture and share ballpark memories on CitiVision by using #NikonMets. Nikon's presence will also extend to areas endemic to the professional photographer community surrounding the New York Mets.
"We are excited to extend and enhance our partnership with Nikon," said Mets Executive VP and Chief Revenue Officer Lou DePaoli. "Like the Mets, Nikon has a very loyal fan base, and we look forward to partnering with them to enhance the fan experience at our games."
"Baseball is so much more than America's favorite pastime; it brings out a passion in fans that feel a personal connection to their favorite teams, the game and even their home field. In expanding our relationship with the New York Mets, we want fans to think of Nikon when capturing and sharing their favorite Citi Field moments," said Masahiro Horie, Director of Marketing and Planning, Nikon Inc. "Whether it's your kids' first ballgame or Game One of the World Series, a trip to the ballpark is filled with memories that should be preserved in the best possible image quality, and that's where Nikon hits a home run."
