The Boston Red Sox set their 2016 Opening Day 25-man roster by making the following moves:
President of Baseball Operations David Dombrowski made the announcement.
The 2016 Opening Day roster includes 12 pitchers, two catchers, seven infielders, and four outfielders.
The Red Sox open their 116th season tomorrow afternoon in Cleveland at Progressive Field. Left-handed pitcher David Price will start for Boston, making his Red Sox debut. He will be opposed by Indians right-hander Corey Kluber, with first pitch set for 4:10 p.m.
The Red Sox' 2016 Opening Day Roster:
PITCHERS (12): Matt Barnes, Clay Buchholz, Joe Kelly, Craig Kimbrel, Tommy Layne, Rick Porcello, David Price, Noe Ramirez, Robbie Ross Jr., Junichi Tazawa, Koji Uehara, and Steven Wright.
CATCHERS (2): Ryan Hanigan and Blake Swihart.
INFIELDERS (7): Xander Bogaerts, Brock Holt, David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, Hanley Ramirez, Pablo Sandoval, and Travis Shaw.
